According to the first instance verdict, in mid-August 2016, while taking a 70-year-old man on a motorbike taxi, Huy was asked by this man to help him find a prostitute. With a brokerage fee of 200,000 VND, Huy took the old man to Ba Mau Lake to see a prostitute, agreeing on a price of 300,000 VND per trip.
That same afternoon, Huy arranged for the old man and a friend to go to a hotel to have fun with two prostitutes. In the lobby, Huy received one million dong from the customer and gave 600,000 dong to the two girls.
The four people were caught red-handed in the act of prostitution that day by the police. At the first instance trial held at the Dong Da District People's Court, Huy was sentenced to three years in prison. One of the two prostitutes was sentenced to six months in prison for brokering because she invited her friend to go with her to "serve".
At the appeal hearing opened today, Hanoi People's Court accepted Huy's appeal, reducing the sentence to 2 years in prison./.
