Previously, Moong Thi Le had known Xeo Thi Hanh (unknown background) and was asked by Hanh to find someone to take to China to be sold as a husband. If the job was successful, Le would receive a fair amount of money.
Around August 2018, when Cut Thi Cang (born in 2000, residing in Yen Na commune, Tuong Duong district) went to the house of Noc Thi Hien (born in 1990), residing in Xa Luong commune (Tuong Duong), she confided that her situation was too difficult, her husband was addicted to drugs so she wanted to go abroad to work, to China to make money.
Cang asked Ms. Hien if anyone could help him find someone. Because she had heard that Moong Thi Le took people, Ms. Hien immediately took Cang to Le's house to ask.

Here, Le called Hanh to negotiate. After discussion, Hanh promised to pay Cang 90 million VND and Le's salary would be calculated separately. Cut Thi Cang immediately agreed and advanced Le 1 million VND to prepare her belongings to go to China.
About 2 days later, Moong Thi Le took Cang to Mong Cai, Quang Ninh province to go to China to meet Hanh. Upon arrival, Hanh and a woman of unknown origin named The sold Cang to a Chinese man to be his wife. After selling Cang, Moong Thi Le was sent 112 million VND by Hanh, of which 90 million VND was for Cut Thi Cang's family; 15 million VND was Le's salary, and the rest was money Hanh asked her to send to her parents.
In July 2020, Cut Thi Cang returned to Vietnam and filed a complaint against Moong Thi Le with the District Police Investigation Agency for the act of bringing people to China.
Considering the entire case and the aggravating and mitigating circumstances, the panel decided to sentence the defendant to 6 years in prison for the crime of "human trafficking".
