Clarifying the identity of the gunman who shot the 63-year-old woman
On the afternoon of January 11, the Investigation Police Agency of Nha Trang City Police (Khanh Hoa) provided official information about the case of a subject using a gun to shoot and injure Ms. Vo Thi Thanh (63 years old, residing in Vinh Truong ward, Nha Trang city).
According to the police: At 4:55 p.m. on January 8, Vinh Truong Ward Police received a report from residents that a serious fight had occurred in front of house number 43 Vo Thi Sau, Vinh Truong Ward.
Through investigation, it was determined that at about 4:40 p.m. the same day, Duong Thanh Tung (39 years old, residing in Vinh Truong) and Nguyen Van Hai (41 years old, residing in Nha Trang City) along with about 11 subjects (unknown background) brought machetes, knives, and fish guns to beat Ms. Dinh Thi Man (48 years old, residing in Nha Trang City). Here, Hai was hit in the head by a stone, causing injury (unknown who threw the stone).
Nha Trang City Police invited the people involved to the headquarters for questioning, but Tung's group did not cooperate. About 20 minutes later, Ly Huynh (32 years old, living in Nha Trang City) and 7 other people (unknown background) returned with fish guns, machetes, and knives to find the person who threw the shot at Hai to take revenge.
When arriving at group 2, Vinh Truong ward, Huynh's group saw Ho Duc Si (44 years old, living in Nha Trang city) passing by so they rushed to beat him. Si abandoned his motorbike and ran away. Huynh used a machete to smash Si's motorbike.
The group then went to the house of Vo Thanh Tam (38 years old, Thanh's son) to beat Tam, but only Thanh was home. Huynh immediately used a fish gun to shoot Thanh.
