Clarifying information about the case of a missing young woman who was murdered in a rented room

Previously, on February 19, Thanh Xuan district police arrested Hoang Minh Hao (born in 2004, permanent residence in Kep town, Lang Giang district, Bac Giang province) to investigate and clarify the murder of Ms. LTT L (born in 2003, permanent residence in Thanh Thang village, Luan Thanh commune, Thuong Xuan district, Thanh Hoa province; residing in My Dinh 1 ward, Nam Tu Liem district, Hanoi city).

Based on the initial documents and evidence collected, the Investigation Agency determined: On January 22, after stealing a black Honda Vision motorbike in lane 190 Nguyen Trai, Thuong Dinh ward (Thanh Xuan), Hao pawned it for 10 million VND. After that, the subject rented a motel in the My Dinh bus station area to stay, and at noon on January 25, he took a bus to Ha Tinh to celebrate Tet.

On the morning of February 16, while taking a bus back to Hanoi, Hoang Minh Hao went on Facebook to find a place to stay and contacted Ms. LTTL. At about 5:30 p.m. on February 16, Hao made an appointment to meet Ms. L at house number 1, alley 14, lane 40, lane 79, Cau Giay (Hanoi) to see the room. Because he did not have enough money to pay the deposit, Hao went home. At about 8:30 p.m. on the same day, the subject continued to meet Ms. L at the above mentioned house to pay the deposit for the rent. Here, Hao was taken by Ms. L to room 302, 3rd floor to see the room. Seeing Ms. L alone, the subject had the intention of robbing her and used his hands to strangle the victim. After discovering Ms. L dead, Hao hid the victim's body in the kitchen cabinet.

The suspect then took a Honda Vision motorbike and two cell phones from the victim and left the scene. Hao then used Ms. L’s motorbike as a means of transportation and rented a house at 36C, Lane 152, Nguyen Dinh Hoan, Group 24, Nghia Do Ward (Cau Giay). On February 19, the Investigation Police Agency discovered and arrested Hao in Minh Khai Ward (Bac Tu Liem).

Based on the initial investigation results, the Investigation Police Agency, Thanh Xuan District Police have initiated a case, issued a decision to request the Hanoi Institute of Forensic Medicine to conduct a forensic autopsy; request the Criminal Techniques Department, City Police to conduct a DNA test of the suspect Hao; and at the same time transfer the entire case file to the Office of the Investigation Police Agency, Hanoi City Police to handle the investigation according to its authority.

On the same morning, as reported, regarding the case of a missing young woman who was murdered in a rented room, Major General Nguyen Thanh Tung, Deputy Director of Hanoi City Police, said: "The Investigation Police Agency has initiated a case and prosecuted Hoang Minh Hao (born 2004, from Bac Giang province) for murder and robbery." The case is being urgently investigated by the police agency, clarified and consolidated to handle according to the provisions of law.
