(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 27th, the People's Committee of Nghe An province held a conference to review the state management work on religion during the first six months of the year and to implement tasks for the last six months. Comrade Le Xuan Dai, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, chaired the conference.

In the first six months of 2015, state management of religion at all levels, sectors, and localities was seriously and correctly implemented in accordance with policies and laws, and in line with the realities of life. In particular, the activities of religious organizations took place in a pure and lawful manner, and showed many positive changes.

However, illegal religious activities still occur in some localities, including some complex cases, due to uncooperative attitudes towards the authorities, the exploitation of faith to incite and gather followers to make false demands on the government, and negative impacts on security and order.

The conference heard many opinions and discussions from the participating delegates. In his concluding remarks, Comrade Le Xuan Dai stated: The achievements in religious affairs have contributed significantly to the socio-economic development of the province. Alongside agencies and localities that have performed well, there are still many places where officials lack attention, handle matters slowly, and fail to report issues related to religious activities in a timely manner.
The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested: In the remaining months of the year, relevant agencies, departments, and localities should consider religious affairs as a key task, focusing on thoroughly understanding and effectively implementing the Party's policies and the State's laws on religion; consolidating the organizational structure and staff working in religious affairs, while simultaneously enhancing their sense of responsibility, capacity, and effectiveness; objectively and lawfully addressing religious needs to maintain social order and security; proactively monitoring the situation, promptly detecting, combating, and handling illegal religious activities; strengthening propaganda efforts to ensure that religious leaders and officials fulfill their civic duties well and strictly dealing with the misuse of religion to undermine the country's construction and development./.
