Gardening, couple discovered a box containing money, gold and diamonds

Matthew and his girlfriend, Maria Emanuel, of Staten Island, New York (USA), found a rusty metal box buried deep in the ground while planting trees in their backyard,New York Postreported on May 15.
Opening the box, the two discovered a bundle of 100 USD bills along with diamonds, gold, and precious stones wrapped in separate bags, with a total value of 52,000 USD (nearly 1.2 billion VND).
"I thought we had found buried treasure. We were pretty freaked out, it was unbelievable,"CBS New Yorkquoted Matthew as saying.

However, the outside of the box had an address of a house written on it, which Matthew thought was one of their neighbors. "We realized it might belong to a neighbor, so on the morning of May 14, I knocked on the door and asked if they had ever been robbed," Matthew said.
Matthew's neighbor said he was robbed 7 years ago and thought tRobber Robert Costanzo, nicknamed "ninja thief", who committed 160 robberies in the Staten Island borough, is the culprit.Local police confirmed that Matthew's neighbor's safe was stolen in 2011 but have not yet concluded whetherCostanzois a thief or not

Receiving back the lost property, the neighbor hugged Matthew and Maria to thank them.
"Some people asked us why we returned it. It's not even worth asking. It's not ours," Maria shared onCBSNew York:
