7 communes of 4 districts and towns were considered and voted by the Appraisal Council to be recognized as meeting the NTM standards in 2017: Quynh Giang (Quynh Luu), Quynh Lap (Hoang Mai Town), Vinh Thanh, Bao Thanh, Dong Thanh (Yen Thanh), Hung Long, Hung My (Hung Nguyen).

The summary report of the Provincial Office of the New Rural Development Program said that in 2017, these 7 localities had many good and creative ways of doing things, mobilizing resources to complete 19/19 criteria.

According to reports from the People's Committees of communes and inspections from the People's Committees of districts, all 7 communes above have no outstanding debts in basic construction in the construction of new rural areas.

Through voting, 18 council members unanimously recognized the above 7 communes as meeting new rural standards.

Vice Chairman Dinh Viet Hong requested the Provincial Office of the National Target Program on New Rural Construction to promptly complete the dossier to submit to the Provincial People's Committee Chairman to issue a decision to recognize the communes meeting the new rural standards for the above 7 communes. Thus, in 2017, the Provincial New Rural Area Appraisal Council appraised and voted to recognize 29 communes meeting New Rural Area standards, bringing the total number of communes meeting New Rural Area standards in Nghe An to 181 communes.
