Entering this year's shrimp farming season, Mr. Hoang Xuan Tin in Quynh Bang commune, Quynh Luu district, experimented with raising shrimp in cement tanks. After about 20 days of raising shrimp larvae, he released them into 18 tanks, each with an area of 40 m2.2.

Shrimp ponds are designed to be 25 - 40 m wide.2, height over 1m; stocking density from 220 - 250 fish/m2. With a 40m2 aquarium2will release about 1,000 shrimp fry. The ponds are equipped with aerators and separate drainage systems. To provide shade for the shrimp, Mr. Tin invested in roofing made of iron pipes and corrugated iron.
This is the first model of shrimp farming in cement tanks in Nghe An. In addition to stabilizing the water temperature, shrimp farming in tanks will control the amount of food, preventing loss.
"If this crop is successful, my family will invest in more concrete tanks to reduce the area of the earthen pond. Thereby, limiting the spread of diseases in the water environment. With this process, during the hot season, the water temperature will be guaranteed, avoiding heat shock when the weather changes suddenly," Mr. Tin shared.
As of April 18, shrimp farmers in An Hoa, Quynh Luong, Quynh Yen, Quynh Thuan communes... (Quynh Luu district) have released more than 400 hectares/465 hectares of shrimp area for the first crop, reaching more than 80% of the plan.
