According to statistics from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, two-way trade turnover between the two countries has made great and rapid progress. The two-way trade value increased by 40% in the period 2011-2015.
However, Vietnam has a huge trade deficit with Thailand, with import turnover exceeding 8 billion USD, while exports only reach 3 billion USD per year. Thailand is currently one of the 3 largest partners of Vietnam in ASEAN. Therefore, the Vietnamese Goods Week in Thailand could be a good opportunity to balance the import-export balance between Vietnam and Thailand in the coming time./.
