(Baonghean) - Through 14 seasons of launching, from the Tet Encouragement of Learning movement, hundreds of billions of VND have been mobilized to give gifts to Nghe An students with good academic achievements and promptly support those in difficult circumstances to excel in their studies.

This year's Nghe An Education Promotion Festival was launched at Cua Lo High School in the first days of 2017. Right at this ceremony, 20 disadvantaged students received meaningful bicycles as gifts from Mr. Nguyen Manh Cam - former Deputy Prime Minister, former Chairman of the Vietnam Education Promotion Association. Also at the launching ceremony, more than 300 million VND from Vingroup was donated to the Education Promotion Association of Cua Lo town, Hoang Mai town, Quynh Luu, Yen Thanh, Anh Son.

Mr. Tran Xuan Bi - Chairman of the Provincial Association for Promotion of Education said: Tet Encouragement of Education is a good tradition that has been implemented for many years in Nghe An. Since then, tens of billions of dong have been mobilized each year to support and help poor students, students and studious students. In response to the Tet Encouragement of Learning, starting from the 15th of December in the year of the Monkey (2016) to the 15th of January in the year of the Rooster (2017), many activities to help students in the province were organized by schools, organizations and individuals. At Nghi Loc 5 High School, in the days before Tet, despite the busy work, the school leaders and homeroom teachers still visited and gave gifts to Nguyen Ba Tinh (class 10A6) and Van Thi Huong (class 10A7). These are the two students with the most difficult circumstances in the school, of which Tinh's father passed away last year in Laos, Huong is an orphan.

Although the school’s gift was not large, the timely care and encouragement helped the students to ease their sadness and gain more motivation to strive. Previously, at the first semester closing ceremony, the school also gave many gifts to poor students who had a difficult life but still studied hard and achieved good and excellent results last school year.

Teacher Dang Van Hai - Principal of the school said: Nghi Loc 5 High School is located in the most special and difficult area of the district. Therefore, the number of students in the school from poor and near-poor households is quite high. The good news is that although life is still full of hardships, the students are very studious and have the will to excel in their studies to overcome difficulties...

In Nam Dan district, in the last month of the first semester, the District Youth Union launched the program “Tet for the poor” and received the response of all the Youth Unions. Through that, hundreds of Tet gifts were sent to students who still have many difficulties and shortages, promoting the spirit of mutual love, mutual assistance, and sharing in schools.

Nghe An Provincial Youth Union, with the program "Spring Volunteers", also gave 190 gifts to poor students in the border commune of Dooc May, Ky Son district. On this occasion, the delegation also visited, encouraged and gave gifts to Ho Y Co in Pha Lech Phay village, a poor student who had been helped by the Provincial Youth Union. With the visit of the brothers and sisters, the small house of Lech Phay's mother and four children seemed to be warmed, dispelling the cold and deprivation.

Up to now, Nghe An's Tet Encouragement of Learning has been implemented for 14 seasons. Although it only took place in a very short time, the program is truly meaningful and brings practical results. During the month of encouraging learning, besides joining hands and taking care of poor students to celebrate Tet, many clans and localities also organized many other exciting activities. In Quynh Doi commune (Quynh Luu), for many years now, on the second day of Tet, the Commune Association for Promoting Learning has organized the Spring Writing Ceremony for students. In the ancient communal house of the commune, the children of the village have written the first strokes of the new year to write essays about their homeland, about the outstanding children of Quynh village, so that the children of the village can feel and be aware of the tradition and filial piety of the land of learning, Quynh village.

It is known that the education promotion movement of Quynh village has existed since the time of the Three-Level Doctorate Ho Sy Duong. From the spread of the education promotion movement, hundreds of children of Quynh village have passed the provincial and national exams, winning high prizes, many of them are top scholars, doctors, bachelors, and bachelors. Also in Quynh Luu district, the activity of writing the first words of Spring in families is widely carried out. Usually, after welcoming the New Year, the table is placed solemnly in the middle room, and the children in the family take out paper and pen to write the first lines of the new year.

In addition, from the custom of giving lucky money to children and grandchildren of each family, the association for the promotion of education has launched a campaign for families to give gifts to their children and grandchildren on New Year's Eve or the morning of the first day of Tet. This year alone, the whole district has had over 50,000 families giving gifts to their children and grandchildren worth hundreds of millions of dong. Many families also raise pigs for the promotion of education. The money saved at the end of the year will be used to buy more books and clothes for their children and grandchildren.

According to statistics from the whole province, from the Tet Encouragement of Learning movement, each year, the Associations for Promoting Learning at all levels have mobilized nearly 45 billion VND from the funds of families, clans, fellow countrymen, fellow students, agencies and businesses. Thanks to this amount of money, nearly 200,000 students have been encouraged and rewarded. At the same time, thousands of other valuable gifts have been given to students and teachers in mountainous, remote and isolated areas. Thereby, it also contributes to honoring and promoting learning and also demonstrates the humane and benevolent morality of the people.
