Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong - a flower grower said that during this time, the flower plants are very sensitive, if not carefully cared for, the flowers can bloom before Tet. Therefore, based on long-standing experience, after 7 days of planting flowers, people start to put up lights at night to control the growth of the flower plants.
“This year, my family planted more than 3,000 yellow chrysanthemums and 1,000 other flowers; because we moved to a new land, the flowers are plump and green. It is expected that in about 5 days, we will stop lighting the flowers at night to stimulate the flowers to bud and bloom in time for Tet,” Ms. Phuong shared.
From the 15th to the 25th of the 9th lunar month, flower growers simultaneously plant flowers for the Tet season. In order for the flowers to grow quickly, in addition to using electricity to light up the flowers at night, the villagers also take the initiative to take good care of them.
Mr. Nguyen Van Manh - a long-time flower grower said that currently, the entire flower area of the people has a planting time of more than 30 days. Therefore, people have to focus on weeding and limit tilling the soil. In addition, people have to regularly pinch and prune unnecessary branches and twigs. When the flowering period comes, it is necessary to pinch off the secondary buds, leaving only the main buds to concentrate nutrients to nourish the flowers.
