| Currently, Tan Huong commune still has over 30 households practicing the traditional craft of making sugarcane syrup. Previously, sugarcane was pressed using ox-drawn presses; now, it's done using diesel-powered presses with gear systems that reduce the engine speed from 500 revolutions per minute to just a few dozen revolutions per minute, thus extracting all the juice from the sugarcane. | The molasses is continuously boiled for 4-5 hours, with the foam constantly skimmed off until it reaches a thick golden color. Tan Huong sugarcane molasses is currently sold at an average price of 20,000 VND/liter. However, what makes consumers trust it is that Tan Huong sugarcane molasses is produced with a quality-assured process, and the molasses is naturally preserved after boiling without the use of chemicals. |
