(Baonghean.vn) -Creatively and flexibly applying the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, people in Nhung village, Tam Quang commune (Tuong Duong) have chosen the solution of building a centralized garbage pit.

Nhung village, Tam Quang commune, Tuong Duong district has 137 households with 548 people, the village is located 2km from the commune center. Previously, people often had the habit of littering freely anywhere in the village, causing unsightliness and affecting the living environment.

Identifying environmental protection in rural areas as an urgent task, and also a criterion for striving to build a new countryside, in April 2015, the Management Board called on villagers to contribute money and hundreds of laborers to build a centralized garbage pit using reinforced cement with a total cost of nearly 14 million VND, of which the commune supported 5 million VND.

Since the establishment of the centralized garbage pit, people have been aware of the need to dispose of waste in the right place. According to the convention, each household must contribute 20 thousand VND per year to pay for 2 people to regularly dispose of waste.

This model has reduced environmental pollution and prevented epidemics. At the same time, the landscape around the village is cleaner and more beautiful.

The positive effects of building centralized garbage pits have contributed to improving the quality of life of farmers. At the same time, with good practices, it has created habits for each individual in protecting the environment, responding to climate change, building an increasingly green, clean and beautiful rural environment. It is known that in the near future, any household that needs to build a garbage pit at home, the district will support materials, and the people will pay for the labor.
