Leaders of 9 major corporations in Korea were questioned
The heads of nine major conglomerates, which account for half of South Korea's economy, will face unprecedented questioning on December 6.
The men questioned are some of South Korea's richest and most powerful businessmen, but the ongoing political scandal has exposed public anger over their influence and privileges amid South Korea's economic stagnation.

According to CNA, the questioning will be broadcast live. Chiefs of major conglomerates such as Hyundai Chairman Chung Mong-Koo, Samsung Group leader Lee Jae-Yong, and seven other group heads will have to answer questions from lawmakers related to the high-profile political scandal.
A South Korean parliamentary committee is investigating whether the conglomerates were pressured by President Park Geun-hye or her friends and aides to donate money to two non-profit organizations supporting Park's initiatives in exchange for special treatment.
Last month, South Korean prosecutors raided the offices of several conglomerates in the country, looking for evidence that they received policy favors in exchange for their donations. No conglomerates have been charged with wrongdoing, and Samsung has said it will cooperate with prosecutors.
The questioning will begin at 10am and may last until 10pm on December 6.
