On the morning of June 18, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council held a meeting with the Provincial People's Council Delegation Groups and the Standing Committees of the People's Councils of districts, cities and towns to discuss and contribute to the program and content of the 9th session of the 17th Provincial People's Council, term 2016 - 2021.

Expected 2 questions

At the conference, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Hoang Viet Duong announced the expected program and content of the 9th session, which will be held for 2 and a half days, from July 10 to 12, 2019; at the same time, he oriented a number of issues requesting the Provincial People's Council Delegation Groups and the Standing Committee of the District People's Council to contribute their opinions, especially the expected content of the questioning at the session, such as the management and handling of "suspended" projects and the management, protection and care of children.

Delegates expressed their agreement with the program and content of the 9th session, and at the same time recommended that the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council urge all levels and sectors to pay attention to solving many practical issues.

Delegate Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Deputy Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee, Head of the Provincial People's Council Delegation in Quy Hop, said that the land reclamation after open mining in Quy Hop has not been implemented and the consequences are very large.

Currently, some mining areas in Suoi Bac and Suoi Mo (Chau Thanh commune) have been closed but are now being exploited again, posing a very high risk to mining safety and affecting production and the lives of local people.

Therefore, delegate Vo Thi Minh Sinh suggested that the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council should get involved and the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Natural Resources and Environment should have stronger measures for this issue.

Especially in the recent hot weather, according to statistics, more than 1,000 hectares of rice have been burned and if the hot weather continues, the damaged rice area will increase. Therefore, the Provincial People's Council needs to have measures and policies to solve this problem.

In addition to the above issues, many delegates also mentioned many issues that voters are concerned about related to traffic infrastructure; land disputes; gambling, lottery, drugs; lack of domestic water, lack of production land in mountainous areas; quality of domestic water in urban areas.

It is also about solving the "post" problems of merging blocks and hamlets related to facilities, cultural and sports institutions and resolving the staff before the end of the term; resolving the regime for the commune police force when arranging regular police to the commune...

Continue to innovate and improve the quality of meetings

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council Cao Thi Hien emphasized: With the spirit of continuing to innovate and improve the quality of activities of elected agencies, including the quality of meetings; in this session, the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council continues to set out requirements for innovation.

Specifically, in the question-and-answer session, instead of questioning specific content, this session will question each group of issues and in answering questions, in addition to the responsibility of the leaders of the Provincial People's Committee and provincial-level sectors, the districts must also be responsible for answering questions related to management work in their areas.

Discussion sessions in the hall and group discussions will enhance debate to clarify practical issues, especially issues of concern to voters, thereby finding effective solutions to the issues.

To ensure the quality of the activities at the session, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council hopes that the Provincial People's Council Delegation Groups and the Standing Committee of the District People's Councils will continue to consider and propose issues to be included in the questioning session on the basis of synthesizing and filtering issues of interest, reflection and proposal from voters; at the same time, have the responsibility to coordinate so that the Provincial People's Council delegates can properly exercise their rights and responsibilities, and contribute many profound opinions at the session...
