Government leaders donate to support people affected by floods

The entire amount of money from this donation will soon be transferred to the people of the Northern and North Central provinces.

On the afternoon of October 13, at the Government Headquarters, the Government Office held a fundraising ceremony to support people in the Northern and North Central provinces to overcome the consequences of damage caused by recent floods.

According to statistics, the floods have left 93 people dead and missing, 200 houses collapsed; over 30,000 houses flooded; over 50,000 hectares of rice and crops flooded and damaged; many traffic and irrigation works were eroded and damaged. The most serious damage was in Hoa Binh with 32 dead and missing.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister and Head of the Government Office Mai Tien Dung emphasized that, in the spirit of "mutual love", "the whole leaves cover the torn leaves", implementing the Prime Minister's direction, the Government Office calls on all cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers to donate to support and share the heavy loss and damage of the people in the Northern and North Central provinces. On October 12, due to the complicated developments of the flood, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc canceled his working sessions in Hai Phong and led a Government delegation to Ninh Binh to direct flood response and protect the safety of dykes./.
