Education leaders begin writing with six words.

On the morning of February 12th, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training held a spring writing ceremony at the Chu Van An Ancestral Temple (Thanh Liet commune, Thanh Tri district, Hanoi city).

Mr. Nguyen Huu Do, Director of the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, affirmed that the spring writing ceremony is a practical activity of the Capital's education sector to implement the tradition and moral principle of remembering one's roots and respecting teachers, while also expressing sincere gratitude for the benevolence of the sages who have made many contributions to the country's education.

“Following in the footsteps of our ancestors, we are proud to be exemplary teachers – teaching well, students striving to improve themselves – studying diligently and obediently, remembering our predecessors to build up virtue. We must cultivate virtue to reap the fruits of our labor. To achieve ‘Talent’ and ‘Virtue’, and for our intellect to flourish, we must strive even harder,” – representing the teachers and staff of Hanoi, Mr. Nguyen Huu Do pledged before the spirit of “The most respected teacher of all time.”

While in 2015, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training chose five words to inaugurate the Lunar New Year with the opening calligraphy: Virtue, Wisdom, Learning, Success, and Humanity, this year, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training has chosen six words, in accordance with President Ho Chi Minh's teachings: Competition, Emulation, Good Teaching, and Good Learning.

These six words were chosen by the Hanoi education and training sector to inaugurate the writing season of the Year of the Monkey (Bính Thân).
