Afternoon of December 14,Professor Ngo Bao Chau and members of the delegation of Advanced Mathematics Research Students had a working session and talked with lecturers and students of Vinh University.
Also attending were comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, representatives of the Department of Education and Training and a large number of students from universities, colleges and high schools of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces.

Speaking to students from Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, Professor Ngo Bao Chau recalled his memories of Vinh University and the land and people of Nghe An through his teacher who grew up at Vinh University. In addition, he also shared some stories about his studies, work and some issues related to education and educational innovation in Vietnam today.

Professor Ngo Bao Chau is the first Vietnamese to win the Fields Medal, the world's most prestigious award in Mathematics. He is also the first Vietnamese student to win two Gold Medals at the International Mathematical Olympiad.
During his visit to Vinh University, Professor Ngo Bao Chau will have many activities related to the field of Mathematics. That is, he will talk about the topics of Number Theory, about teaching and researching mathematics at universities and high schools in Vietnam now and in the future. Besides, he will talk with students of Vinh City about issues related to education and youth.
