Provincial leaders and over 1,000 participants took part in the Olympic Run Day.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of March 19th, the Provincial People's Committee and the Department of Culture and Sports organized the Olympic Run for Public Health. This is one of the activities to respond to the Olympic Run and celebrate Vietnam Sports Day (March 27th, 1946 - March 27th, 2017).

| Attending the ceremony were members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Le Minh Thong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Ho Phuc Hop - Head of the Provincial Party Propaganda Department; leaders of the Department of Culture and Sports; representatives from various departments, agencies, and localities; and a large number of citizens. |
This activity contributes to encouraging a large number of people from all walks of life to participate in physical exercise and sports, responding to the campaign "All people practice physical training following the example of the great President Ho Chi Minh" and the movement "Be healthy to build a career and defend the country"; improving health for studying, working, producing, building and defending the Fatherland.
In addition, the Olympic Run for Public Health Day also contributes to raising awareness about the role and benefits of sports training in protecting and improving the quality of life for the people, building a healthy lifestyle and cultural environment, and contributing to strengthening national unity.

At the launching ceremony, provincial leaders along with more than 1,000 officials, civil servants, and students participated in a run to celebrate the Olympic Day for Public Health, covering a route of approximately 1.2 km from Ho Chi Minh Square to Nguyen Tat Thanh Park.

Immediately following the launch ceremony of the Olympic Run for Public Health, the Department of Culture and Sports also organized the Nghe An Provincial Cross-Country Race with the participation of more than 200 athletes from 21 districts, cities, and towns. The athletes were divided into two age groups (under 15 years old and 16 years old and above) for both men and women.
