Provincial leaders offer flowers and incense at historical relics on the occasion of July 27

(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of the 69th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2016), on the morning of July 22, a working delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province led by comrade Nguyen Van Thong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee came to offer flowers and incense at the Nghe Tinh Soviet Monument (Hung Nguyen district), Truong Bon Historical Site (Do Luong district), and the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs Cemetery (Anh Son district).

Also attending were comrade Hoang Viet Duong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council, and representatives of leaders of provincial departments, branches, sectors and organizations.

With deep respect and gratitude, in front of the Nghe Tinh Soviet Monument, comrade Nguyen Van Thong and the working delegation of the province and Hung Nguyen district laid wreaths and offered incense to commemorate the heroes and martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the revolutionary struggle, for the independence and freedom of the nation.

Next, the delegation went to Truong Bon historical relic site, in My Son commune, Do Luong district. Here, thousands of cadres, soldiers, and Youth Volunteers heroically died while on duty to ensure support for the Southern battlefield. In particular, on October 31, 1968, 13 soldiers of Nghe An Youth Volunteer Company 317 sacrificed their lives while on duty. This was a heroic event, creating a legendary Truong Bon, a red address educating revolutionary and patriotic traditions for the next generation.

In the sacred atmosphere, comrade Nguyen Van Thong and the provincial delegation respectfully offered flowers and incense to commemorate the heroic martyrs at the common grave and the temple of heroic martyrs.

The Deputy Secretary and the delegation visited and presented gifts to the Management Board of Truong Bon Historical Site.

The working delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province made a pilgrimage to the Vietnam-Laos International Martyrs' Cemetery.

Next, the delegation went to the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs Cemetery (Anh Son district). This is the resting place of more than 10,000 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed their lives while performing their noble international duty in Laos, for the independence and peace of the two brotherly countries of Vietnam and Laos.

Respectfully bowing before the souls of the heroic martyrs, comrade Nguyen Van Thong and members of the working delegation of Anh Son province and district expressed their infinite gratitude and deep appreciation to the loyal sons who devoted their lives for the peace of the country and for the noble international sentiment.

Also on this occasion, comrade Nguyen Van Thong visited and presented gifts to the Management Board of the Vietnam - Laos International Martyrs Cemetery; visited and presented gifts to two families of policy beneficiaries and people with revolutionary contributions in Anh Son district.

The Deputy Secretary and the working delegation visited and presented gifts to Mr. Dang Dinh Thu, residing in village 5, Phuc Son commune (Anh Son), a war invalid 2/4.

The delegation visited and presented gifts to Mrs. Nguyen Thi Loi (martyr's mother), residing in village 6, Phuc Son commune.
