Provincial leaders met with Nghe An fellow countrymen in Hanoi

Speaking at the meeting, comrade Nguyen Manh Cam emphasized the significance of the annual meeting between Nghe An province leaders and the provincial Association of Fellow Countrymen in Hanoi; and discussed some outstanding activities of the association in 2017.

Comrade Nguyen Manh Cam said that on the occasion of the birthday and death anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh, the Association of Fellow Countrymen always has meaningful activities, expressing the special affection of Nghe An people living, studying and working in the capital for him.

Along with that, the Nghe An Association also has activities to promote and honor Nghe An folk songs - Representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity; at the same time, there are exchange and meeting activities to connect branches and associations of fellow countrymen of districts, cities and towns of the province in Hanoi.

In particular, with a heart always turned towards the homeland of Nghe An, the Association regularly makes meaningful contributions to build the province to develop more and more; donated and supported more than 320 million VND for people affected by natural disasters.

Regarding the orientation for 2018, the Chairman of the Nghe An Association in Hanoi emphasized two key tasks: consolidating and perfecting the Liaison Committee in Hanoi; at the same time, continuing to be responsible for contributing in many fields to contribute to the construction and development of Nghe An according to long-term programs.

On behalf of the Party Committee, government and people of the province, speaking at the meeting, Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh expressed his pleasure to attend and meet with Nghe An people living and working in the capital Hanoi.

“This is truly a sentimental gift on the occasion of the New Year, our honor and pride to encourage and cheer up Nghe An province to continue confidently on the road ahead” - Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh shared.

The Provincial Party Secretary also announced some highlights of the socio-economic, national defense-security, and Party building work of Nghe An province in 2017.

Accordingly, the province has completed 27/27 main targets on socio-economic development, many of which exceeded the set plan. The growth rate reached 8.25%; higher than the growth rate of recent years and higher than the average growth rate of the whole country (6.81%); Average income per capita in 2017 reached 32.26 million VND.

“The leaders of Nghe An province sincerely acknowledge the noble sentiments of our people. In the coming time, we hope that those who are far from home in Hanoi will continue to turn to their homeland; many excellent students, scientists and intellectuals among us will return to their homeland to work, invest and do business long-term... contributing to building our homeland Nghe An to become increasingly prosperous and strong” - Comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh shared, at the same time affirming that these results have the support and assistance of the Nghe An community in other provinces, especially in Hanoi.

The head of the Provincial Party Committee also informed the Nghe An Association in Hanoi of a number of key tasks in 2018 that the Party Committee, government and people of the province are focusing on leading and directing to implement well.

In particular, the province organized a review and evaluation of the results of 5 years of implementing Resolution 26 of the Politburo on the direction and tasks for developing Nghe An province until 2020 and evaluated the results of the half-term implementation of the Resolution of the 18th Provincial Party Congress; continued to restructure the agricultural sector towards increasing added value and sustainable development; focused on attracting businesses to invest in agriculture and rural areas, and promoted new rural construction.

Nghe An also improves the competitiveness and efficiency of industrial production; focuses on drastic direction to remove difficulties, speed up the progress of investment projects in the area, especially key projects. "In this field, we will also try our best to promote administrative reform" - the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized.

Provincial Party Secretary Nguyen Dac Vinh also said that the province continues to mobilize investment resources, especially non-state resources to develop infrastructure; prioritize investment in large traffic and urban infrastructure projects, projects that connect and spread development among sectors, fields and regions; promote foreign affairs activities; continue administrative reform, build an effective, disciplined and orderly administration;...

Nghe An also focused on preparing content and plans for the Provincial Party Standing Committee to register to work with the Politburo to evaluate 5 years of implementing Resolution 26 of the Politburo and build plans and projects to prepare for the 130th anniversary of Uncle Ho's birthday in 2020.

The head of the Provincial Party Committee also affirmed that the province will continue to do a good job in mass mobilization work, promoting the role of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations in mobilizing people to implement the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws, creating social consensus; building a strong national defense; maintaining political security, social order and safety, especially in border areas.

“To achieve the set goals and tasks, the Party Committee, government and people of the province need more attention from the Nghe An people living far away from home. We sincerely hope that you will continue to support Nghe An province,” the Provincial Party Secretary emphasized.
