Nghe An provincial leaders work with the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan

(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of September 18, within the framework of a visit and work in Japan to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam-Japan diplomatic relations, a special delegation from Nghe An province visited and worked with the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan.

On the side of Nghe An province, comrade Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation was the head of the delegation. Accompanying him were comrade Le Xuan Dai - Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of a number of departments and branches.

Receiving and working with the delegation was Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong.

On behalf of the leaders of Nghe An province, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Dac Vinh expressed his pleasure to visit and work at the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan; at the same time, he announced some cooperation contents between Nghe An province and Japan, as well as some proposals hoping to receive attention and assistance from the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan.

In 2015, Nghe An province established friendly relations with Gifu province, Japan. The two provinces have actively implemented cooperation activities in the fields of agriculture, tourism, education - training, investment and cultural and sports exchanges with activities such as: high-ranking delegations of both sides visiting each other; Gifu province enterprises visiting and studying the investment environment, promoting tourism in Nghe An. Nghe An province organized a seminar on promoting investment, tourism, and trade in Gifu province...

Vinh City has established friendly and cooperative relations with Kasumigaura City, Irabaki Prefecture. The two cities also regularly hold friendly exchange activities.

Up to now, Nghe An province has had 9 investment projects from Japan with a total capital of 1.078 billion USD in the fields of limestone mining, food, garment, and auto parts.

To date, Japan has funded 44 ODA projects in Nghe An, with a total investment of up to 6,172,087 billion VND. In 2017, a Japanese non-governmental organization also continued to mobilize aid for Nghe An with 30 ships of various types to exploit the river/sea economy.

Two-way trade is also growing. Nghe An's export turnover to Japan in 2017 reached 24.2 million USD; Import turnover from Japan reached more than 11 million USD.

Regarding Education and Training, in 2016, Nghe An had over 800 students studying abroad in Japan, of which 89 were on scholarships. In addition, Vinh University cooperated with JINNO Academy, Japan to open a Japanese language training center, moving towards establishing a Japanese language department.Every year, Nghe An province has a large number of workers going to work in Japan.

Currently, Nghe An province focuses on calling for Japanese investors to invest in the following areas: clean agriculture; medicinal herbs, coffee, rubber, tea in the direction of intensive farming, improving product quality; attracting projects to build meat processing plants (beef, pork and poultry) and animal feed production plants associated with industry serving livestock farming in the province.

The province also focuses on attracting investment in the following areas: high-tech industry; supporting industry (manufacturing of accessories, accessories, components, structures, parts, spare parts, machinery and equipment details... supplying the mechanical assembly industry, electricity - electronics, information technology, automobiles, petrochemical industry, thermal power); mechanical engineering, production of construction materials, cement, high-grade tiles; production of new materials...

Nghe An also called on Japan to support training for officials and businesses of the province in applying scientific and technological advances in the fields of agriculture, industry and environment; and cooperate in training with universities and colleges in the province.

At the working session, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong highly appreciated the socio-economic development of Nghe An province in recent years, emphasizing the results of investment attraction and calling for foreign enterprises to invest in the province.

The Ambassador also informed about some situations and investment trends of Japanese enterprises abroad, including Vietnam; information about the labor situation and labor demand of countries in Japan. Currently, Nghe An workers are present in 47 provinces and cities of Japan.

At the meeting, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Vietnam to Japan Nguyen Quoc Cuong promised to act as a bridge to introduce Japanese businesses and investors interested in learning about and investing in Nghe An.
