Nghe An provincial leaders visit Bishop Cao Dinh Thuyen

(Baonghean.vn)- On the morning of July 16, a delegation from Nghe An province went to Hanoi to visit Bishop Cao Dinh Thuyen, former Bishop of Vinh Diocese, who is undergoing medical treatment in Hanoi. Comrade Le Xuan Dai, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, led the delegation.

Also attending were comrade Bui Dinh Long, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Health; representatives of provincial departments, branches and sectors.

Bishop Cao Dinh Thuyen fell in Vinh City and was given first aid by doctors at Hospital 115. He was then transferred to Viet Duc Hospital in Hanoi for treatment. With the efforts of the doctors and nurses, the attention of the leaders of the Ministry of Health, Nghe An province, and the Catholic community, Bishop Cao Dinh Thuyen's health is now stable.

Bishop Paul Maria Cao Dinh Thuyen was born on December 7, 1926 in Trang Luu parish, Trang Luu diocese, Vinh diocese. He was ordained a priest on May 14, 1960 and on November 1, 1992, the Holy See appointed him as Coadjutor Bishop of Vinh diocese. On December 11, 2000, he was appointed by the Holy See as Bishop of Vinh diocese.
