Nghe An provincial leaders commemorate General Vo Nguyen Giap and heroic martyrs in Quang Binh and Quang Tri
(Baonghean.vn) - Nghe An has more than 45 thousand martyrs; more than 56 thousand wounded and sick soldiers have left a part of their blood and bones on the battlefield. The heroic sacrifice of the martyrs has added more color to the national flag, making the revolutionary tradition of the heroic Soviet homeland shine.

On the morning of July 19, on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2023), the delegation of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province came to offer flowers, incense, and visit the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap, Quang Binh province and Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery, Quang Tri province.

The delegation of Nghe An province included comrade Hoang Nghia Hieu - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee: Le Duc Cuong - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organization Committee; Pham Trong Hoang - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Inspection Committee; Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda Department; Bui Thanh An - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Vo Thi Minh Sinh - Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nghe An province; Phan Dai Nghia - Commander of the Provincial Military Command; members of the Provincial Party Executive Committee: Nguyen Nhu Khoi - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Bui Dinh Long - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Dinh Hung - Chief of the Provincial Party Committee Office; Kha Van Tam - Chairman of the Provincial Labor Federation; Doan Hong Vu - Director of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, and leaders of a number of departments, branches, and socio-political organizations at the provincial level.

Coming to Vung Chua - Yen Island, Quang Dong commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province, the delegation of Nghe An province respectfully offered flowers and incense to commemorate and express gratitude for the outstanding contributions and dedication to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the Vietnamese people of General Vo Nguyen Giap.

General Vo Nguyen Giap was an excellent and close student of President Ho Chi Minh; the first Commander-in-Chief of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, an outstanding military man, a highly prestigious leader of the Party, State and People; loved, respected and revered by Army officers and soldiers as the "Elder Brother" of the Vietnam People's Army; and at the same time made important contributions in the fields of education - training, science - technology, journalism, diplomacy, culture, history...



Studying and following the example of General Vo Nguyen Giap, the delegation of Nghe An province vows to forever follow the path chosen by the Party, beloved Uncle Ho and our people; to excellently continue the glorious revolutionary cause that our predecessors and generations of fathers and brothers have sacrificed their blood and bones to achieve; to strive to build our homeland Nghe An to become increasingly prosperous, beautiful and civilized; to contribute to building Vietnam to become increasingly developed and firmly protecting the Fatherland.



During the nation's long resistance wars, along with the people of the whole country, Nghe An had tens of thousands of outstanding children joining the army, youth volunteers, and frontline laborers on all battlefields.

After more than 48 years of peace and unification, Nghe An province has achieved many important achievements in socio-economic development, national defense and security. People's lives have been constantly improved and raised.
Party committees at all levels, authorities, socio-political organizations, businesses, organizations and individuals, with the ethics of "remembering the source of water when drinking", have paid special attention to the families of martyrs, wounded and sick soldiers and people with revolutionary contributions.

With sincere gratitude, on the occasion of the 76th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day, the delegation of Nghe An province visited the Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery located on Ben Tat hill, next to National Highway 15, in Vinh Truong commune, Gio Linh district; a place to commemorate and honor 10,263 beloved children of the Fatherland who heroically sacrificed their blood and bones on the Truong Son roads for the cause of national liberation; including 1,297 martyrs from Nghe An.


Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery today is not only the resting place of heroic martyrs but also a place of honor, a shining symbol of revolutionary heroism, of the spirit, will to fight for independence and the desire for peace of our people.




Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery is for martyrs' families, delegations of the Party and State, local Party committees and authorities to visit and perform the work of gratitude and is a red address in the journey of gratitude of people across the country according to the noble moral tradition of the Vietnamese people: drinking water, remembering its source.


Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Thai Thanh Quy and the delegation respectfully offered flowers and incense to express their deep remembrance, gratitude and honor to beloved children across the country, as well as the children of Nghe An who did not hesitate to sacrifice their blood and bones for the cause of national liberation and unification.
On this occasion, on behalf of the delegation, Secretary of Nghe An Provincial Party Committee Thai Thanh Quy presented gifts to the Management Board of Truong Son National Martyrs' Cemetery.
