Leaders of Ulyanovsk province (Russian Federation) met and presented 100 commemorative medals to Nghe people who worked in Lenin's homeland.

On the afternoon of April 16, the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Nghe An province organized a friendship meeting with the delegation of Ulyanovsk province, Russian Federation, who are on a working visit to Nghe An.
The delegation of Ulyanovsk province was headed by Mr. Kabanov Oleg Vladimirovich - Deputy Chairman of the Government of Ulyanovsk province, plenipotentiary representative of the Governor of Ulyanovsk province in the Government of the Russian Federation.
The leaders of Nghe An province attended the program with comrade Bui Dinh Long - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and leaders of the Department of Foreign Affairs. Also attending were leaders of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Nghe An province, many members of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Nghe An province and a number of provinces and cities.
During the period from 1986 to 1990, implementing the Agreement between the two Governments of Vietnam and the Soviet Union, Nghe Tinh province (now Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces) sent more than 3,000 workers to work at factories and enterprises in Ulyanovsk province, receiving wholehearted support and assistance from the provincial government and people.
After their working term ends, some people return to Vietnam, bringing the professional knowledge they have learned to continue contributing to the country's development, spreading love for Russia, Russian people, and Russian culture to future generations.
Some continue to stay and work, contribute to economic and social development, and continue to be a bridge of friendship between the people of Nghe An - Ulyanovsk provinces in particular and Vietnam - Russian Federation in general.
Mr. Kabanov Oleg Vladimirovich - Vice Chairman of the Ulyanovsk Provincial Government, Plenipotentiary Representative of the Governor of Ulyanovsk Provincial Government in the Government of the Russian Federation expressed his emotions when attending the friendship meeting program; sharing his good feelings and impressions about the Vietnamese people who have been living in Ulyanovsk.
“Vietnamese friends are very kind, friendly and hard-working. We are very happy to work and interact with them,” said Mr. Kabanov Oleg Vladimirovich, appreciating the important role and contribution of people-to-people diplomacy activities, thereby believing that through the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of Nghe An province, the friendship and cooperation between the two provinces will be increasingly strengthened.
In a warm atmosphere imbued with the friendship between Vietnam and the Russian Federation in general and Nghe An and Ulyanovsk in particular, Mr. Kabanov Oleg Vladimirovich respectfully presented 100 commemorative medals to outstanding citizens of Nghe An and Ha Tinh who worked and labored during the period from 1986 to 1990 in the province, nearly 900 km east of Moscow, the homeland of leader VILe-nin.
On this occasion, Permanent Vice President of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Nghe An province Nguyen Hong Ky presented Ulyanovsk province with a historical photo book "Ho Chi Minh - Symbol of peace and friendship between Vietnam and the world" which was awarded the National B Prize in 2021 by the National Book Award Council.
Previously, in his welcoming speech, Mr. Nguyen Canh Phu - Chairman of the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Nghe An province affirmed that time has passed, but in the hearts of the children of Nghe An who once studied, worked and worked in Ulyanovsk province, there are still good memories of the homeland of the great VI Lenin; of the poetic city of Ulyanovsk by the peaceful, clear Volga river; of the open, kind and loyal people of Ulyanovsk.
Over the years, the Vietnam - Russia Friendship Association of Nghe An province has carried out people-to-people diplomacy activities to strengthen and expand the solidarity and friendship, mutual understanding between the people of Vietnam and the Russian Federation; act as a bridge to promote the development of multifaceted cooperation in the fields of economics - trade, science, technology, education - training, culture - society... contributing to strengthening the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation in general; the cooperative and friendly relations between Nghe An province and Ulyanovsk province in particular.
“We will do our best to contribute to further developing the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation in general, and between Nghe An province and Ulyanovsk province in particular,” said the Chairman of the Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of Nghe An province.
The Vietnam-Russia Friendship Association of Nghe An province is one of the first organizations to work on people's foreign affairs, established on April 21, 1957, and is one of 18 member organizations of the Union of Friendship Organizations of Nghe An province.
Currently, the number of members is nearly 4,000, operating in 13 grassroots branches across the province, including one branch abroad, the Vietnamese Solidarity Association in Ulyanovsk city with more than 250 members.
