Vietnamese leaders offer deep condolences on the passing of the King of Thailand.
The King's passing leaves behind infinite sorrow for the Queen, the Royal Family, the Thai people in particular and the ASEAN Community in general.
Upon hearing the news of the passing of Thai King Bhumibol Adulyadej, on October 14, 2016, President Tran Dai Quang, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan jointly sent condolences to Queen Sirikit, the Royal Family, Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha, and President of the National Legislative Assembly Pornpetch Wichitcholchai.

With the deepest condolences from our Leaders to the Queen, Royal Family and Leaders of Thailand, the Condolence Message reads:
During the 70-year reign of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the Kingdom of Thailand has developed strongly and the Thai people have had a prosperous and happy life. The King's passing has left behind endless sorrow for the Queen, the Royal Family, the Thai people in particular and the ASEAN Community in general.
As a close neighbor and strategic partner of Thailand, Vietnam always appreciates the positive contributions of His Majesty the King in promoting the Vietnam - Thailand cooperation relationship over the years. We believe that the Queen, the Royal Family and the Thai people will soon overcome this great loss and continue to develop Thailand strongly as His Majesty the King wished.
On the same day, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Pham Binh Minh also sent a message of condolences to Thai Foreign Minister Don Pramudwinai.
