Vietnamese leaders send congratulatory message to Cuban President.

On February 25th, President Truong Tan Sang and Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung sent congratulatory messages to Mr. Raul Castro Ruz on his re-election by the National Assembly of the People's Power of Cuba to continue serving as President of the Council of State and Council of Ministers of the Republic of Cuba for the 2013-2018 term.

On February 24, at the first session of the 8th National Assembly of Cuba, Raul Castro Ruz was re-elected as President of the Council of State and the Council of Ministers.

President Raul was given the interim presidency in 2006 and officially took office in 2008.

The Cuban National Assembly also elected five other Vice Presidents of the Council of State, including Jose Ramon Machado Ventura, Ramiro Valdes Menendez, Gladys Bejerano, Mercedes Lopez Acea, and Salvador Valdes Mesa, a Secretary, Homero Acosta, along with 23 commissioners.

On the same day, National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung sent a congratulatory message to Mr. Esteban Lazo on his election as Chairman of the National Assembly of the People's Power of the Republic of Cuba.
