On July 11, the Cuban news agency Prensa Latina (PL) reported that the country's leader, 88-year-old Fidel Castro, had met with exemplary military officers and soldiers from the Ministry of Interior and the Cuban Revolutionary Armed Forces.

PL quoted a statement saying the meeting, which took place on July 9th, was cordial and open.

During the reception, leader Fidel presented certificates of merit to military officers and soldiers for their achievements in food production.

The Cuban revolutionary leader addressed the issue of global population growth in the context of climate change, severe water shortages, and escalating conflicts that are driving up food prices. He emphasized the importance of increasing food production and applying science to livestock farming.

This is the second time leader Fidel has appeared in public since the beginning of July. Previously, on July 3rd, Fidel attended a cheese industry symposium and held a "dialogue with 19 leading cheese producers for over four hours."

At the conference, leader Fidel emphasized the need to restore the impressive levels of quality and productivity that the cheese industry had once achieved.
