(Baonghean.vn) -On April 16, 1917, after many years of exile, Vladimir Lenin returned to the Russian city of Petrograd (the old name of St. Petersburg) after a long journey from Switzerland.

It can be said that Lenin's return to his beloved Russia from the Swiss city of Zurich was a journey that "turned the wheel" of history, laying the foundation for the success of the October Revolution later.

To better visualize that meaningful journey, the Russian mainstream media assumed the existence of social networks 100 years ago. Readers are invited to relive the journey through the revolutionary Lenin’s “social network status” lines!

A month before Lenin's return, the Bourgeois Democratic Revolution (also known as the February Revolution of 1917) overthrew the autocratic monarchy of Tsar Nicholas II and the Romanov dynasty that had ruled Russia for more than 300 years.

At that time, an unprecedented political situation took place in Russia: two governments existed at the same time, one was the Provisional Government of the bourgeoisie, the other was the Soviet of proletarian workers' and soldiers' deputies. Both of these governments represented the interests of different classes and could not coexist for long.

The deep economic and political contradictions in Russia at that time pushed Lenin and the Bolshevik Party to carry out a revolution that changed political life in the country.

On the very first day of his return, VI Lenin went to Petrograd to present to the Central Committee of the Bolshevik Party the "April Theses" - a document of the party's platform, outlining the path to victory for the socialist revolution with the slogan "All power to the Soviets!".

VI Lenin's "April Theses" responded to the urgent problems of the Russian revolution on the path to the socialist revolution.

How deeply moved, excited, enlightened, and confident VI Lenin's theses made me! I was so happy I cried. Sitting alone in my room, I spoke out loud as if I were sitting before a large crowd: "My tortured and suffering compatriots! This is what we need, this is the path to our liberation."
