Female workers happily receive gifts on March 8th.

An unexpected "gift"

As they began their afternoon shift on March 8th, over 1,300 female workers at Minh Anh - Kim Lien Garment Joint Stock Company (Bac Vinh Industrial Park, Vinh City, Nghe An Province) were surprised to receive gifts including greeting cards and 50,000 VND in cash. This gift was prepared by the company's leadership and the local trade union to surprise the female workers.

“The gift may not be large, but it represents the heartfelt appreciation of the company's leadership and the trade union to the women, thanking them for their contributions to the company's development,” shared Mr. Phan Dinh Tai, Chairman of the Trade Union of Minh Anh Kim Lien Garment Joint Stock Company. Prior to this, the company had also organized cultural, artistic, and sports activities to celebrate the occasion.International Women's Day, March 8th.

Much to everyone's surprise, nearly 1,000 union members and workers at Frescol Tuna Vietnam Co., Ltd. (Nam Cam Industrial Park, Nghi Loc District, Nghe An Province) were astonished to find an extra fried chicken drumstick in their March 8th lunch. To achieve this unexpected and delicious "gift," the company's union put a lot of effort into finding a supplier and meticulously preparing the meal to ensure it arrived hot and crispy.

At Masan MB One-Member Limited Company (Nam Cam Industrial Park), in addition to providing delicious meals, the company's labor union also gives each female union member and worker a gift of a pair of elegantly packaged and eye-catching shower gels.

Besides practical and meaningful gifts, female workers also benefit from many other welfare activities. Ms. Tran Thi Nguyet, Head of the Women's Affairs Committee of the Southeast Economic Zone Trade Union, shared: “Female workers in enterprises often have to work at high intensity, dependent on production schedules, and have few opportunities to participate in recreational activities. Therefore, they are often at a disadvantage on holidays like this. Understanding this, trade unions at all levels have found ways to boost the morale of the women. This year on March 8th, 92% of grassroots trade unions organized practical activities to care for female workers in diverse forms such as increasing the portion size for better meals, organizing cultural and sports activities, handicraft competitions, "Family Meal" competitions, seminars on "Raising Healthy Children, Teaching Good Children"...

Many activities are focused on half the world's population.

This year, on the occasion of International Women's Day (March 8th), trade unions at all levels in Nghe An province simultaneously implemented many activities to care for female union members and workers. These activities not only honor women but also carry a message of humane love and compassion.

The Nam Dan District Labor Union, in coordination with the District Women's Union and local multi-specialty clinics, organized a program to provide health care, counseling, and free medical examinations for 200 female union members in the district. During this program, female union members received free cervical endoscopy, abdominal ultrasound, CA-125 ovarian cancer screening, dental and maxillofacial examinations and consultations, and X-rays. Union members who needed reproductive health care services outside the package also benefited from discounted prices. Many organizations also chose to implement health care activities to celebrate International Women's Day on March 8th.

In addition, the units also organized many meaningful and practical activities. In Nghia Dan district, the District Labor Union successfully organized the "Golden Bell Ringing" competition to learn about labor laws and policies, population and family planning knowledge, and reproductive health among civil servants, public employees, and workers in 2024. The Thai Hoa Town Labor Union organized the "Cooking in the Spring" competition in 2024 and a traditional Vietnamese dress (áo dài) fashion show with the participation of a large number of union officials, members, workers, public employees, and laborers from affiliated establishments in the area.

Some district and sectoral trade unions organized sports competitions or seminars and commendations, such as the women's volleyball tournament organized by the Cua Lo Town Trade Union in coordination with the Cua Lo Cultural, Sports and Information Center; the women's volleyball tournament of the Tuong Duong District Labor Federation to raise funds to support female members with cancer and union members facing unexpected difficulties; and the Do Luong District Labor Federation in coordination with the District Women's Union organized a seminar on "Building the modern Do Luong woman"...

Besides activities aimed at caring for female union members, the trade unions at all levels in Nghe An also implemented many humanitarian sharing and support activities during this period.

Specifically, grassroots trade unions under the Nghia Dan District Labor Federation sponsored two children for three years, totaling 30 million VND; the Vinh City Labor Federation coordinated and provided funding for drilling a clean water well for Mon Son Secondary School worth 15 million VND, donated 2,500 ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dresses) and a "zero-cost" stall (worth 5 million VND) to female members, civil servants, and workers in Con Cuong district. At the same time, they donated 1,500 sets of ao dai and 10 gift packages (worth 5 million VND) to members.women, a member of the Trade Union of Ky Son District.

At the Nghe An Health Sector Trade Union, in addition to the program "Giving Ao Dai, sending love, preserving traditional beauty" to female workers and union members in difficult circumstances in remote, mountainous, and border areas, the grassroots trade unions also organize many other diverse activities such as running competitions, cooking competitions, free medical check-ups, etc.
