Sharing about the role of women in modern society
(Baonghean.vn) - On the occasion of International Women's Day (March 8), Nghe An Newspaper recorded the opinions of some typical faces about the role and position of women in today's life.
Associate Professor, Dr. Thai Thi Kim Oanh - Principal of Vinh University School of Economics:

Modern women must know how to arrange and balance between work and family.
In today's society, the role and status of women have been affirmed, demonstrated by the fact that women hold many important positions and responsibilities in many different fields. Modern society has created many favorable conditions for women to demonstrate their abilities, prejudices and barriers to women participating in social activities, especially in management work, have been almost eliminated.
However, besides those advantages, there are also many difficulties for women when modern life with many high demands of life requires women to still fulfill their roles as wives, mothers, and keepers of the family fire while actively participating in social activities. This will also create high pressure for women. Therefore, they need to know how to arrange and balance between work and family.
As for myself, currently being both a scientist and a manager, in order to be able to fulfill the tasks assigned by society as well as family life, I personally have to clearly define my obligations and responsibilities. First of all, no matter what position I am in, I must always be responsible for myself and the work I do. I determine that I must always demonstrate enthusiasm, have the mindset of daring to think, daring to do, daring to face challenges, and promoting my own advantages.
With my current position as a manager in a knowledge-based environment with diverse management subjects, I am required to constantly improve my professional capacity and management skills to adapt promptly to changes and grasp opportunities to master life. In addition, I must be truly brave, dare to propose ideas and initiatives, dare to experiment and dare to accept risks.

Tran Thi Thu - Student of Korean Language Department, Vietnam - Korea Industrial Technical College:

Know what you need and constantly strive to be better every day
Throughout history, regardless of the era, country, or ethnicity, women have always played an important role. Vietnamese women in the past not only made great contributions to the cause of national liberation and nation building, but today they continue to overcome all prejudices and challenges to make positive contributions in all fields.
Following in the footsteps of confident Vietnamese women, I chose to study at the Korean Language Department because in the current trend, I see that foreign languages have become extremely popular, becoming an important factor for future career development. In the "multinationalization" trend of companies, knowing at least one foreign language will help me stand out and easily get a job that suits my abilities and qualifications. I think that women should not just finish school and then go home to take care of their families. If you have knowledge, effort, and boldness, opportunities will come to you and you will not be inferior to men.
In my opinion, a modern woman is financially independent, proactive in work and study, knows what she needs and constantly strives to be better every day. In addition, a modern woman is also someone who knows how to spend time with her family, with the people she loves, has a warm heart, knows how to sympathize, share and contribute to the community. Therefore, during her studies, she also participated in creative start-up projects, participated in competitions organized by Nghe An Provincial Youth Union such as "Light to the Way", "Uncle Ho in the Hearts of Nghe An Youth" ...; actively participated in volunteer and charity activities.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Dung - Secretary of Xuan Hoa Commune Youth Union (Nam Dan):

The role of rural women is viewed more openly and positively.
Currently, along with the urbanization process, the labor trend is shifting from rural to urban areas, so the main labor force in this area is mainly women. Women are the large force that contributes significantly to changing the face of the countryside and building a new life through the implementation of movements: Women are good at production and business, poverty reduction is closely integrated in the implementation of the campaign "Building a cultural family" against domestic violence, against trafficking of women and children...
In addition, women also play an important role in taking care of the family's cultural and spiritual life, contributing to educating children's personalities and building a harmonious and happy family. In addition to their role as mothers, wives and daughters-in-law, rural women are a truly important social force, becoming a solid foundation for the economic, cultural and social development in rural areas.
On the other hand, the role of rural women is now also seen more openly and positively through gender equality activities. If gender equality work is not promoted by local party committees and authorities, women like me will find it difficult to participate in local mass organizations and complete assigned tasks well.
Therefore, I want to urge the young people around me to always live with a spirit of dedication, constantly improve their knowledge, help and support those in difficult circumstances, and better promote gender equality in each family to further promote the role of women in building new rural areas, contributing with the Party Committee and the government to well implement social security and political tasks, and together build our homeland to become more and more prosperous and civilized.

Ms. Luu Thi Ha - President of Nghe An Province Association of People with Disabilities:

Women with disabilities need to have social barriers removed.
Although society is more open today, discrimination against people with disabilities still exists. For women with disabilities, discrimination is doubled. They face more risks and are more susceptible to labor and sexual abuse than non-disabled women.
In addition, educational opportunities, access to skills and knowledge training courses... are still limited, so many women are not confident in themselves. In addition, there are some cases where people with disabilities still think that they are disabled, need support from the community, do charity... which is also a barrier for them to stand up and take control of their lives.
However, in today's society, the majority of women with disabilities always have the need and desire to improve their knowledge, capacity, position and rise up to assert themselves. From 2019 to present, the Nghe An Province Disabled Women's Club has been a place for women in similar situations to share, sympathize, and help each other overcome difficulties; eliminate complexes and inferiority complex, gain more knowledge, skills and confidence in life, take care of their own health, their families... This is a common home to help women with disabilities have more will and determination to overcome difficulties and rise up to integrate into the community.
However, I still hope that the community will raise more awareness about people with disabilities in general, and women with disabilities in particular, and see them as equal to all other citizens. People with disabilities have undesirable disabilities, so they really need to remove social barriers and institutional barriers so that they can live and work in an inclusive environment, confidently affirming their abilities to contribute to the development of society. In addition, the Women's Union at all levels needs to organize more programs to exchange, learn, visit, and share from successful start-up models to motivate women with disabilities to start a business./.
