Created 15 porn websites earning more than 3.6 billion VND

Over the course of more than a year, Hai and his associates created 15 websites, posting 4,400 films and video clips with obscene, pornographic, and aphrodisiac content. There were 40,835 member accounts on the websites, including 612 paid accounts.

The Dong Da District Police Department has just coordinated with the High-Tech Crime Prevention Police Department, Hanoi City Police to investigate and clarify the case of Nguyen Duy Hai (23 years old, residing in Khuong Thuong collective, Trung Tu, Dong Da, Hanoi) spreading obscene cultural products on the internet.

Over the past year, Hai led a group, along with three other people, to create websites to download films with obscene, pornographic, aphrodisiac, and child sexual abuse content, and illegally profited more than 160,000 USD (more than 3.6 billion VND).

In early July 2015, Nguyen Duy Hai bought the domain name hzfile.com online for $12 and rented a server, writing source code for the website of a person with the nickname "Huynh Nhat Vu" (unknown background) on the social network Skype for $60.

After completing the website, Hai registered an administrator account (admin) with the username hz_super… In mid-July 2015, Hai created accounts on the websites snakefile.com and depfile.com to download films and video clips with obscene, pornographic, aphrodisiac, and child sexual abuse content and then uploaded them to the server of hzfile.com.

To attract internet users to access and download movies on his website, Hai went to another website to buy the domain name prebabe.asia and rented hosting from "Huynh Nhat Vu" to copy the movie download links from the website hzfile.com and post them on prebabe.asia (with attached images of the movie content).

Next, Hai copied movie advertising links from prebabe.asia and accessed foreign websites and forums to post movie title advertisements, movie photos, and introductory links about prebabe.asia, with the aim of attracting visitors, registering, and downloading movies at the homepage hzfile.com. Hai asked “Huynh Nhat Vu” to set up and install the form, if viewers wanted to access Hai’s website, they were required to register as members, and if they wanted to download movies, they had to pay. The price for downloading movies depends on the package, 16.99 USD for 30 days; 27.99 USD for 60 days; 35.99 USD for 90 days; 63.99 USD for 180 days.

The way Hai received money was through foreign intermediary payment websites and then through international payment gateways. From the accounts on the international payment gateways, Hai converted them into Vietnamese currency and transferred them to a Vietcombank account under the name of Tran Phuong Thao.

At the end of July 2015, Do Van An (23 years old, residing in Cluster 5, Khuong Dinh, Thanh Xuan, Hanoi) and Nguyen Xuan Tung (24 years old, residing in Lane 51 Thai Thinh, Dong Da, Hanoi) knew that Hai was making money in this way, so they asked to join. Hai agreed, bought the domain name for the two subjects, set up and installed these two websites similar to Hai's website prebabe.asia. At the same time, he instructed An and Tung on how to copy the movie download link, how to copy the links of this website and upload them to foreign forums to attract visitors.

In September 2015, Tran Chi Chung, a high school classmate of Hai, found out and asked Hai to let him join to earn money together. Hai agreed and followed the same steps as An and Tung. Hai regulated the form of advertising payment for An, Tung, and Chung as follows: When users access the link from An, Tung, and Chung's advertising websites to the hzfile.com server, register an account, and successfully pay the fee, the subjects will be paid 65%, Hai will keep 35%. Hai converts from USD to Vietnamese currency and then pays directly or by bank transfer.

By October 2015, Hai's website hzfile.com was deleted and could not be restored, so Hai bought another domain name and transferred all the data to it, the operation was still the same. At the end of October 2015, the subject rented a server from a man of unknown origin for 12-13 million VND/month and transferred all the data to this server. At the same time, he hired someone to fix the errors on the hzfile.com website.

By April 2016, Hai no longer downloaded movies and video clips from the websites snakefile.com and depfile.com, but downloaded movies from a member account named “riberty789”. In July 2016, the subject had his domain name hzfile.asia stolen, so he bought the domain name hzfile.al for 13 USD and bought the server of “Huynh Nhat Vu” for 60 USD/month, changed all his data and that of An, Chung, Tung, and continued to operate. Hai also created many advertising websites for himself, and for every website that was deleted, Hai created another one.

At the time of his arrest, Hai was managing 4 websites, the remaining subjects managed 11 websites and all websites had similar content. In early August 2016, Hai created another account “taliban”. In the hzfile.al website system, 4,400 films and video clips with obscene, pornographic, and aphrodisiac content were posted. There were 40,835 member accounts, of which 612 were paid accounts.

Since its inception, Hai has collected more than 160,075 USD (more than 3.6 billion VND). This money was used to maintain the operation of the websites, pay for advertising membership accounts and for personal expenses.

Working at the police station, Hai voluntarily handed over 3 laptops that were often used to disseminate obscene content to the police station. Dong Da District Police inspected the above-mentioned websites, confiscating 298 obscene content films recorded on 38 CDs; inspected Hai's payment accounts, confiscating documents related to the creation of the website, the amount of money benefited from the dissemination of obscene cultural products of the subjects Nguyen Duy Hai, Nguyen Xuan Tung, Do Van An, Tran Chi Chung.

The Dong Da District Police Department requested an appraisal of the films submitted by Hai. The results showed that 168 films had obscene content and 80 were pornographic and aphrodisiac. These films were all on the list of banned films.

Currently, the Dong Da District Police Investigation Agency has initiated a criminal case, prosecuted the accused, and issued an order prohibiting Nguyen Duy Hai from leaving his place of residence for the act of disseminating obscene cultural products; at the same time, consolidating the case file to handle the remaining subjects according to the provisions of law.

According to CAND
