According to the decision signed by the Minister of Health, the Central Interdisciplinary Steering Committee on Food Safety will establish 5 inspection teams in 10 provinces and cities, including Quang Ninh, Ho Chi Minh City...
Information in the plan to ensure food safety for the 2024 Lunar New Year and Spring Festival has just been signed and issued by Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan.
In addition to the communication activities deployed nationwide, at the Central level, the Steering Committee will establish 5 interdisciplinary inspection teams to conduct inspections in 10 provinces and cities including: Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Kon Tum, Gia Lai, Thai Nguyen, and Bac Kan.
The Ministries of Health, Agriculture and Rural Development, and Industry and Trade are responsible for issuing directive and urging documents before December 20, 2023; establishing an interdisciplinary inspection team before December 26, 2023 and conducting inspections before, during and after the Lunar New Year and the Spring Festival 2024.
Localities will establish interdisciplinary inspection teams at all levels, from provincial to communal levels, to proactively conduct inspections before, during and after Tet and festivals depending on the characteristics and conditions of each locality from December 20, 2023 to March 20, 2024.

The Steering Committee requires that the inspection work must be focused and key, concentrating on items used a lot during the Lunar New Year and festivals such as meat and meat products, beer, wine, alcoholic beverages, soft drinks, confectionery... and food service establishments.
According to the Ministry of Health, Lunar New Year is the time of year when food consumption is high, especially meat, fish, eggs, cakes, candies, alcohol, soft drinks, oil seeds, etc.
To meet market demand, many food production and trading establishments have increased their production, trading and import of food. During this period, the weather in the North is often humid and the weather in the South is hot, which greatly affects the assurance of food safety and quality./.
