Establish a Department of Police for Investigating Economic Crimes and Corruption.

On the morning of April 24th, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Public Security held a ceremony to announce the Decision of the Minister of Public Security on the establishment of the Department of Criminal Investigation of Economic and Corruption Crimes, directly under the General Department of Police.

Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Member of the Central Committee of the Party and Deputy Minister of Public Security, attended and delivered a speech.

The Department of Police Investigation of Economic and Corruption Crimes was established by merging the Department of Police Investigation of Economic and Official Crimes with the Department of Police Investigation of Corruption Crimes.

At the ceremony, the Organizing Committee also announced the Decisions on the transfer and appointment of leadership positions in the Department of Criminal Investigation of Economic and Corruption Crimes.

Speaking on behalf of the Central Party Committee of Public Security and the leadership of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong emphasized that, based on the assigned functions and tasks, the Department of Criminal Investigation of Economic and Corruption Crimes, in coordination with functional units of the General Department of Police, should urgently complete the organizational structure, consolidate the apparatus, working regulations, and work procedures of the subordinate units.

The Department promptly reported to the competent authorities on the establishment of grassroots Party organizations in accordance with the Party Charter and directed the holding of Party congresses at the grassroots level up to the Department's Party Committee, following the guidance of the Central Public Security Party Committee, and according to schedule.

The leaders of the Ministry of Public Security also requested the new unit to strengthen political and ideological education for officers and soldiers, and to promote internal unity in order to effectively carry out all aspects of professional work.

2015 is a year of intensified emulation activities to celebrate major national holidays and the People's Public Security Force. The Department of Criminal Investigation of Economic and Corruption Crimes needs to carry out many practical activities and achieve many new victories and accomplishments in the field of crime prevention and control, especially strongly promoting the role of combating corruption in the current situation.
