Created a YouTube channel, bragged about being able to guess lottery numbers and stole nearly half a billion dong
(Baonghean.vn) - Created a lottery prediction channel on YouTube, then recorded videos and voiced over comments on lottery results and predicted the winning numbers for the next day. With this trick, Le Van Cu defrauded nearly half a billion VND from 25 people.
On the afternoon of November 17, the People's Court of Nghe An province announced the verdict in the first instance criminal trial against Le Van Cu (born in 1999), hometown Xuan Quan commune, Van Giang district, Hung Yen province, for the crime of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".
According to documents from the Criminal Investigation Agency, in January 2020, after receiving a report from Mr. Pham Anh T. (born in 1993), residing in Vinh City, Nghe An, the content was: At the end of September 2019, Mr. T. watched a video on the SC7777 channel advertised by a young man with a Northern accent who had the ability to predict and choose lottery numbers and crosses with a high accuracy rate. Mr. T. trusted him so he made friends with a Zalo account named "Anh Bay oficial" to negotiate to buy "lot" and "cross" numbers. Mr. T. bought tickets many times but still did not win and this person took 7 million VND. Knowing that he had been scammed, Mr. T. filed a complaint with the Nghe An Provincial Police.Based on the victim T.'s testimony, Nghe An Provincial Police identified the owner of the SC7777 channel as Le Van Cu, from Xuan Quan Commune, Van Giang District, Hung Yen Province, currently living in Binh Thanh District, Ho Chi Minh City, so they proceeded to arrest him.
According to the police agency's documents, Cu confessed that since November 2018, when watching videos about lottery predictions, lottery numbers, and the North on social networks, Cu had the idea of making videos about this content to defraud and appropriate property. Cu created a video channel called "Soi cau 777" on YouTube.

Every day from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm, after the drawing results are available.Northern Lottery, Cu uses a computer with an Internet connection, a microphone, and computer screen recording software to make videos commenting on the lottery results of that day and predicting the winning numbers of the next day with a high accuracy rate and then posting them on the channel.
The videos all record the Northern lottery results screen compiled on the website ketqua.net and then dub your voice using a microphone to explain and comment on the lottery results of that day and previous days.
To commit fraud, Cu still "bragged" that he had the ability to predict and know which lottery numbers had a high winning rate of 80-100%. In each video, Cu said that anyone who wanted to buy lottery numbers or standard skewers should contact Cu via Zalo called "Soi cau 7777" to negotiate. When the account was discovered to have signs of fraud and was locked by the network operator, Cu used another phone number to create a Zalo called "Anh Bay Official"; in early 2020, Cu changed the name to a video called SC777
Buy sheepjunk phone simto open accounts at a bank with many different names in order to conceal his identity to receive the fraudulent money. After receiving the money that the victims transferred to his bank account, Cu transferred it back and forth between other accounts and then withdrew cash for personal use.
With the above tricks, from 2018 to January 12, 2020, Cu defrauded and appropriated property, including money for buying lottery tickets and thank-you money, from 25 victims in many localities across the country such as Lao Cai, Ha Giang, Hanoi, Ha Tinh... with a total amount of 485 million VND, of which there were 3 cases in Nghe An.

Mr. LCP (born in 1990, residing in Nghe An) was scammed out of 31 million VND. At the end of June 2019, Mr. LCP watched Cu's "Soi cau 7777" channel and was promised by Cu that the "unique lottery" number had a winning rate of one number and that if he wanted to get the number, he had to pay in advance via a bank account. Mr. P. paid 10 million VND to Cu many times but almost never won. On June 13, because he won the lottery once, Mr. P. transferred another 1 million VND to Cu and 10 million VND the next time. After paying many times but not winning, Mr. P. filed a complaint with the authorities.
At the trial, defendant Le Van Cu admitted his crime. The defendant said that, realizing the high demand for lottery players, Cu set up a channel to sell lottery numbers for the purpose of fraud and property appropriation. The defendant asked the panel of judges to consider the amount of more than 300 million VND in the account. According to the defendant, it was a joint family account, so he hoped the authorities would lift the freeze order.
Considering the case in its entirety, the panel sentenced defendant Le Van Cu to 10 years in prison for fraud and appropriation of property, and confiscated 130 million VND to be paid into the state budget.
