Chinese ground controllers contacted the aircraft, but the B-52 "continued its mission."
Speaking at a press conference, Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook said: “I am aware of a B-52 flight. I am not even sure what day it occurred, but Chinese ground controllers attempted to communicate with that aircraft and the B-52 continued its mission...Nothing has changed.”
In late October, a US destroyer also entered the 12-nautical mile zone around an artificial island illegally built by China in the Truong Sa archipelago in the East Sea./.
