According to RT, as President Biden's term is about to end, further arms transfers will depend on the results of the November 2024 election.

Vice President Kamala Harris is expected to continue current policies toward Ukraine if she wins the next election, while Republican candidate Donald Trump has threatened to cut aid to Kiev.

According to information released by the Pentagon on July 29 (US time), since the start of the conflict between Kiev and Moscow in February 2022, the US has allocated more than 55.4 billion USD in aid to Ukraine.

The document provides a summary of the amount of weapons sent to Kiev using these funds. The list includes various types of anti-aircraft ammunition, artillery, mortar systems, anti-tank and anti-ship missiles, tanks, helicopters, drones and many other types of battlefield equipment.

Also earlier this week, the Pentagon announced a new aid package for Ukraine totaling $1.7 billion, which will mainly include anti-aircraft ammunition, artillery and mortar shells, small arms and explosives.

This is the 62nd equipment delivery from the Pentagon's stockpile to Ukraine since August 2021, the US Department of Defense said in a statement.

Previous aid proposals for Kiev have struggled to gain bipartisan support in the US. A $61 billion aid package stalled for months in Congress in Washington earlier this year due to Republican opposition, before finally passing in April.

Republican candidate - former President Donald Trump has repeatedly threatened to cut aid to Kiev if elected in the upcoming US presidential election.

One of Mr Trump's key policy proposals is to structure the aid in the form of loans. He has also pledged to end the conflict within 24 hours of returning to power.
