Seeking feedback on the draft Law on the Organization of the People's Procuracy.

(Baonghean.vn) -To prepare for participation in the 7th session of the 13th National Assembly, on the afternoon of May 16th, under the chairmanship of Mr. Pham Van Tan - Head of the National Assembly delegation of Nghe An province, the Nghe An National Assembly delegation held a conference to gather opinions on the draft Law on the Organization of the People's Procuracy (amended).

Attending the conference were comrades Le Huu The - Deputy Director of the Supreme People's Procuracy; Nguyen The Son - Director of the Institute of Procuracy Science of the Supreme People's Procuracy; Nguyen Van Thong - Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial Internal Affairs Committee; representatives of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial Fatherland Front, the Department of Justice, the People's Procuracy of Nghe An province, and the Provincial Bar Association.

Overview of the conference

At the conference, participants expressed their agreement with the National Assembly's drafting of amendments to the Law on the Organization of the People's Procuracy. The draft law also includes important tasks of the People's Procuracy system, such as crime statistics, scientific research, and judicial assistance.

Mr. Pham Van Ha, Chief Justice of the Provincial People's Court, participated in the discussion.

In addition, some opinions raised concerns that if the model of regional People's Procuracies is linked to regional first-instance courts based on the merger of some district-level People's Procuracies, certain difficulties and obstacles will arise in the performance of prosecutorial and supervisory duties; on the other hand, it will hinder the implementation of the People's Procuracy's principle of being close to and serving the people. Many opinions also contributed to the regulations on the duties and powers of the Chief Procurator and prosecutors of the People's Procuracy; on the term of office of prosecutors; on the age of prosecutors; suggested adding a mechanism for dismissal and removal from office when prosecutors do not meet the standards; and a mechanism for reviewing and improving the quality of prosecutors.
