Le Au Ngan Anh: The curse of 'Miss Fish Tank Cleaner' and scandal

Every time I remember the image of the coronation night, I am still terribly stressed.

- Looking at Le Au Ngan Anh's image now, many people probably won't recognize the noisy beauty queen of the past. Did she have any plastic surgery on her face?

Over the past 3 years, I have had significant changes, from my appearance, fashion style to my way of thinking. At the time of my coronation, I was just a fresh graduate who had never known about showbiz. No one in my family was in the arts, so I didn't know how to apply makeup, pose, or enhance my beauty, which led to that unfortunate accident. After that, every time I appeared, I was somewhat different from the image I had when I was crowned, and there were rumors that I had had surgery here and there. On my face, even on my body, there was no place that wasn't said to have been repaired.

The reason I look better now is because I know how to use makeup to accentuate my features and hide my flaws. Maybe it's because I've had my teeth fixed and restored because I didn't have a bright smile before.

- Besides the change in appearance, is Ngan Anh at the age of 25 different from 3 years ago?

I see myself changing from my demeanor, fashion style to my outlook on life and world. I am now a more mature, calmer version of myself, patient, and ignores gossip. Only when something is too much or I am criticized about my character do I speak up. What I am most proud of is that during my term, I still balanced everything and worked hard to get a master's degree and was able to try many different jobs.

- You are gradually satisfied with your current job as a lecturer and co-host of a TV station, however, the previous scandal, especially the nickname "Miss Aquarium Cleaner" still haunts you like a "curse" that is difficult to escape. Having gone through many ups and downs at a very young age, is Ngan Anh still afraid of gossip?

At first I was sad and resentful, but then I got used to it and felt it was not necessary to correct things that were not true.

Sometimes when I think back to the images of my recent Miss Ocean coronation, I am terribly stressed. Sometimes I still find ugly pictures and negative information about myself online, and sometimes I want to bury those images. But I still consider them as the mark of my youth. Only after going through the storm can I see the beautiful rainbow.

I like men who are smart, brave and have clear goals.

- Besides being a lecturer, Ngan Anh is also a TV MC. It seems like you are aiming for the image of a multi-talented beauty?

Before, I never thought I would be an MC because I did not have the gift of speaking and eloquence. But with the nature of my work now requiring diplomacy and fluent speaking skills, I joined a professional MC course. I had the opportunity to get acquainted with the profession since then.

I am an MC for a financial and business TV channel and a news program. I had to learn voice techniques, attractive delivery, language usage, how to improvise in any situation, and at the same time learn analytical skills, information editing and update in-depth knowledge.

People say the younger you are in the arts, the more advantageous it is. But in the MC field, I think you need to go through many new experiences, have more experience and knowledge to be able to climb the ladder of success. So I think I need more time to gain experience and practice.

- It will be difficult for successful and talented women to find a lover. Aren't you worried, Ngan Anh? Or do you now have a strong shoulder by your side?

People often say “like-minded people will meet like-minded people”. When you are successful and talented, you will automatically become a magnet that attracts talented and capable people, while at the same time pushing away those who are not suitable because you and they do not have the same mindset and outlook on life. So I think the difficulty here is to make yourself more successful and talented, not to worry about not being able to have a lover just because you are aiming for the image of a modern, independent woman with a position in society.

- 25 years old and with a stable career, have you considered getting married if you meet the right person?

My parents are quite strict and traditional in many things, but when it comes to my love life, they are both open and respect their daughter's decisions. They know that I still have many ambitions and goals in my career, so they support me wholeheartedly. Mentally, I plan to get married in 3 years, around 28 years old.

- Being so busy with teaching, will Ngan Anh temporarily stop her artistic work?

I also have a career orientation and goal in the next few years to prepare for an educational business model. So teaching is the way I approach the right audience whose opinions I want to listen to. As for art, I will still develop my MC career. In addition, I still participate in suitable events and do community projects in my remaining time.
