Announcement Ceremony for the Head Coaches of the Vietnam National Team and the U23 National Team
This morning (May 10th) in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) announced the head coach for the men's national team and the U23 national team. Accordingly, Mr. Toshiya Miura will lead both teams for a term from 2014 to 2016.

Attending the ceremony were VFF President Le Hung Dung, Vice Presidents Tran Quoc Tuan and Nguyen Xuan Gu, VFF General Secretary Le Hoai Anh, and Ho Chi Minh City Football Federation President Tran Anh Tu. Nguyen Van Phu, Editor-in-Chief of Bóng đá newspaper, was also present.
At the announcement ceremony, VFF Vice President Tran Quoc Tuan stated: “With the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the General Department of Physical Education and Sports, and based on the activities and goals of Vietnamese football in the coming period, the Vietnam Football Federation has actively implemented preparatory work to ensure the best conditions for the national team to participate in the AFF Suzuki Cup 2014 and to build a roadmap for the Olympic team towards the U22 Asian qualifiers and the 28th SEA Games.”
Following meetings with coaching candidates vetted and recommended by the National Coaching Council, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) officially contacted and worked directly with Mr. Toshiya Miura (Japanese nationality). Today, the VFF is pleased to announce that Mr. Toshiya Miura will be the head coach of the Vietnam National Team and the National Olympic Team from 2014 to 2016.

A FEW DETAILS ABOUT COACH TOSHIYA MIURA
- Date of birth: July 16, 1963
- 1973-1986: Studied and played football.
- 1986-1987: Studied at the Faculty of Medicine and Physical Education, Iwate University.
- 1992-1996: Studied at Cologne University of Physical Education, specializing in coaching.
Training Experience
- 1997: Assistant Coach/Head Coach (from November) Brumell Senda Club (J-League 2).
- 1998: Head coach of Mito Holly Hock (J-League 2).
- 1999: Assistant coach at Omiya Ardija (J-League 2).
- 2000-2001: Head coach of Omiya Ardija (J-League 2).
- 2004-2006: Head coach of Omiya Ardija (J-League 2).
- 2007-2008: Head coach of Consadole Sapporo (J-League 2).
- 2009-2010: Head coach of Vissel Kobe (J-League 1).
- 2011: Head coach of Ventforet Kofu (J-League 1).
