Powering up ceremony of rural power supply project in Dien Lam

(Baonghean.vn)- On December 5, 2015, in Dien Lam commune (Quy Chau), the Northern Power Corporation held a ceremony to connect the rural electricity supply project from the national grid to Nghe An province in the period 2014-2016.

Attending the ceremony were comrades: Le Tuan Phong - Deputy General Director of the General Department of Energy, Ministry of Industry and Trade; Duong Quang Thanh - Chairman of the Board of Members of Vietnam Electricity Group; Nguyen Tan Loc - Deputy General Director of EVN; Thieu Kim Quynh - General Director of Northern Power Corporation.

On the side of Nghe An province, there were comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; Huynh Thanh Dien - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and representatives of all levels of government, unions and people of Dien Lam commune.

Many delegates at all levels and people of Dien Lam commune (Quy Chau) attended the power energization ceremony.

The project to supply rural electricity from the national grid in Nghe An province in the period of 2014-2016 (urgent items) is part of the overall project until 2020, invested by the Northern Power Corporation, and managed by Nghe An Power Company. The project's goal is to develop medium and low voltage power grids for people in villages and hamlets without electricity in Nghe An province, meeting the demand for electricity supply for socio-economic development.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong awarded Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People's Committee to collectives with many positive contributions to project implementation.

The project has a total investment of VND 782,211,000,000, divided into 2 phases (from 2014 - 2016, investment of VND 206,533,000,000; from 2016 - 2020, investment of VND 575,678,000,000). The project has a scale of building 203 transformer stations (TSAs), 682 km of medium voltage lines, 415 km of low voltage lines (0.4kV) and installing 18,218 meters for households.

In the period 2014 - 2016, electricity was provided to 223 villages and hamlets in 54 communes in 8 districts: Que Phong, Quy Hop, Thanh Chuong, Quy Chau, Anh Son, Con Cuong, Ky Son and Tuong Duong, bringing the number of communes with electricity in the province to 100%. In the period 2016 - 2020, the remaining items will be implemented.

On June 21, 2015, the project was started in Muong Long commune (Ky Son), Dien Lam is the 7th commune out of 16 communes in the project to have been electrified. It is expected that from now until the end of December 2015, the remaining communes in the project will be electrified, completing 1 year ahead of schedule.

Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Xuan Duong acknowledged the attention and support of the Electricity Group and the Northern Power Corporation for the people of Nghe An. At the same time, he hoped that the parties would continue to pay attention to implementing the project, ensuring that by 2020 all villages and hamlets in the province will use the national grid, contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 7 groups and 10 individuals; the Electricity Group awarded Certificates of Merit to 8 groups and 5 individuals; the Northern Power Corporation awarded Certificates of Merit to 5 groups and 3 individuals who made positive contributions to the project implementation.
