The Ca Temple Festival - a beautiful cultural feature of a rural area.
(Baonghean)As is customary, every three years, on the 16th day of the first lunar month, Hoa Thanh commune (Yen Thanh district, Nghe An province) solemnly organizes the Den Ca Temple festival to commemorate the tutelary deity and other deities who have contributed to "protecting the nation and its people," and to pray for favorable weather, peace, and prosperity for the people.
The Ca Temple Festival is a spiritual and cultural event that has made a strong impression and become ingrained in the consciousness of every resident of Yen Thanh. The success of the festivals has created a strong ripple effect in the spiritual life of the people, promoting and preserving the beautiful traditional culture of the homeland.

The Ca Temple is not only a cultural and spiritual relic but also a historical testament to the homeland and the country during the war years. It once sheltered and protected the area, serving as a secret meeting place for important discussions among Can Vuong leaders such as Nguyen Xuan On and Le Doan Nha in the late 19th century. During the resistance against the French, the Ca Temple provided shelter and refuge for many classes of Le Doan Nha High School (Yen Thanh). During the resistance against the Americans, the Ca Temple sometimes served as a state-owned warehouse for supplies, preparing for the battlefield…
Besides the solemn ceremony, the festival is lively and engaging with cultural and folk art activities, and games imbued with the martial spirit of our ancestors such as wrestling, card games, cockfighting, swinging, and performances of ancient plays, attracting a large number of local people and tourists.
Mr. Le Thanh Binh (Secretary and Chairman of the People's Committee of Hoa Thanh commune) said: "From this festival, we will continue to promote the socialization of the festival so that it truly becomes ingrained in people's consciousness, serving the cultural and spiritual needs of the people, becoming a festival of the people, and contributing to the preservation of intangible cultural values in Hoa Thanh commune."
