Con Temple Festival receives national intangible cultural heritage
(Baonghean.vn) - On the evening of February 16, Hoang Mai town solemnly held a ceremony to receive the National Intangible Cultural Heritage of Con Temple Festival and inaugurate Hoang Mai town tourism.

Con Temple is one of the four most ancient and sacred temples in Nghe An. The annual Con Temple festival is held on the 19th, 20th, and 21st of the first lunar month, attracting tens of thousands of visitors from all over the world. The Con Temple festival has many unique cultural features, reflecting the life, activities, and beliefs of the residents of the Hoang Mai coastal area.

The Con Temple Festival is considered the oldest festival that still retains the original rituals and festivities. The worship of the Four Holy Ladies and the gods who have contributed to the people and the country, along with the spiritual and cultural activities that are close to the people's lives in the rituals and festivities, has created a Con Temple Festival rich in identity.

The recognition of the Con Temple Festival as a national intangible cultural heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is a recognition of the cultural and historical values of the Con Temple Festival. It is the basis for Hoang Mai town and all classes of people, especially fishermen in coastal areas, to continue to preserve the beautiful and sacred identities of this festival.
Speaking at the ceremony, comrade Nguyen Huu Lam - Member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Organizing Committee emphasized: Hoang Mai town needs to do a good job of preserving and promoting the heritage of the Con Temple festival, strengthen propaganda and promotion work, focus on building and implementing the master plan of the Con Temple relic with a long-term vision, associated with the town's tourism development plan.

This year's Con Temple Festival has many unique activities in the ritual and festival parts, including the opening ceremony, the proclamation ceremony, the opening ceremony, the fish praying ceremony, the offering ceremony, the offering ceremony, the great offering ceremony and the thanksgiving ceremony; the bird contest, art performances, sports competitions such as boat racing, stick pushing, volleyball, tug of war and traditional local folk games, art photo exhibition... taking place on January 19 and 20, attracting tens of thousands of tourists from all over the country and local people.
On February 17 (January 21), many sacred rituals took place, with unique characteristics of coastal fishermen, such as the joint sacrifice ceremony, thanksgiving ceremony, fish praying ceremony, vomiting race and boat racing competition, attracting many teams from 5 districts and cities to participate./.
