Mr. Chuyen also stated that this year's Tran Temple Festival in Thai Binh, held at the Tran Kings' Temple in Tien Duc commune, Hung Ha district, is not only an annual event but also in response to the 2013 National Tourism Year of the Red River Delta.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hong Chuyen, this year's Tran Temple Festival in Thai Binh will take place from February 22nd to 27th (from the 13th to the 18th day of the first lunar month). This year's festival will feature many new elements reflecting the distinctive characteristics and traditions of the Tran dynasty in Thai Binh province.
This is also an opportunity to promote the land and people of Thai Binh in general, and Hung Ha in particular, gradually making the Tran Dynasty Temple and Mausoleum Complex a destination within the national historical and cultural tourism system. At the same time, the organizers also hope to introduce and affirm the value of the Tran Dynasty's cultural heritage in Thai Binh.
According to the plan, along with the opening ceremony of the temple, the water procession, the sacrificial ceremony and incense offering in commemoration of the Tran kings, the opening night will feature a special artistic program with the epic performance "Long Hung - The Triumphal Song".
In addition, throughout the festival, many traditional folk activities will take place, such as fish dish competitions, rice cooking competitions, wrestling competitions, tug-of-war competitions, and cultural and artistic performances to promote and introduce the cultural and historical values of the Tran Dynasty temple complex to a large number of visitors from all over who come to Tran Temple in Thai Binh.
To ensure the festival's success, Hung Ha district established an organizing committee, developed a plan, and assigned specific tasks to each unit. The district organized the staging and rehearsal of the epic performance "Long Hung - The Triumphal Song," dragon and lion dances, and drum performances. The district police proactively implemented plans to ensure security and order. The District Department of Industry and Trade took the lead in promptly clearing obstacles on the roads and sidewalks of all routes leading to Tran Temple.
If Tuc Mac (Nam Dinh) is where the ancestral founder of the Tran dynasty initially settled, then Hung Ha (Thai Binh) is identified as the homeland and the starting point of the Tran family's lineage more than 700 years ago.
Here lies Tam Duong, the resting place of the ancestors of the Tran dynasty such as the founding ancestor Tran Kinh, the crown ancestor Tran Hap, the original ancestor Tran Ly, the retired emperor Tran Thua... and Thai Duong Lang, the eternal resting place of the early kings of the Tran dynasty. The Tran emperors such as Tran Thanh Tong, Tran Thai Tong, Tran Nhan Tong, and their empresses were all buried together in mausoleums named Tho Lang, Chieu Lang, Du Lang, Quy Duc Lang... after their deaths.
The Tran Dynasty relics site in Tien Duc commune, Hung Ha district, Thai Binh province, has been classified by the State as a national-level historical, cultural, and archaeological relic. It not only attracts historians and cultural researchers but is also a particularly valuable tourist destination, a place connected to the origins of the nation, always drawing domestic and international tourists to Thai Binh every spring.
