During the Khai Ha ceremony, local people often gather at temples and communal houses in the village to attend the ceremony. When returning to the temple, people often prepare offerings such as fruits, candies, incense, etc. to offer to the gods. During this ceremony, people also voluntarily contribute money to renovate and build village temples and communal houses. The prayer in the Khai Ha ceremony expresses the spirit of remembering the source of water when drinking, the gratitude of the people towards the gods who have contributed to protecting the country, the people, and the villages, praying for the gods to continue to bless the families, and for the homeland to become more and more peaceful and developed. The person reading the prayer is the celebrant (village chief) or a local shaman. Photo: Huy Thu

After the Khai Ha ceremony, people attend the ceremony to receive blessings at the temple or at the village cultural house. Families who erected the Tet pole have taken it down, officially ending the happy days of Tet and welcoming Spring, and starting to go to the fields to produce. The Khai Ha ceremony at the beginning of Spring is a beautiful traditional cultural feature of many localities. Photo: Huy Thu
