(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of February 12, the 5th day of the first lunar month of the year of the Fire Monkey, Vinh City held a ceremony to celebrate the 227th anniversary of the Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da victory and distributed "Quang Trung Linh Tu" seal cards at the temple of King Quang Trung on Dung Quyet mountain, Trung Do ward.
Attending the event were leaders of provincial departments and branches, on Vinh City side were comrade Vo Viet Thanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of Vinh City Party Committee and comrades in the Vinh City Party Committee, People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee of Vinh City, leaders of wards and communes in the city and a large number of people and tourists from all over.
The celebration is an occasion for the people to remember the merits of King Quang Trung. 227 years ago, Emperor Quang Trung led his troops to the North to fight against 290,000 Qing invaders, achieving a historic victory, the Spring victory of the year Ky Dau 1789, the Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da victory. This is one of the most glorious victories in the history of fighting against foreign invaders and will forever be the pride of our nation.
With such great significance, the Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da Victory is respectfully remembered by the people and becomes an annual traditional festival every spring.
This year's 227th Anniversary of Ngoc Hoi - Dong Da Victory Ceremony, in addition to the solemn ceremony, also included the presentation of a bronze drum and an ancient bronze coin tower by the Thanh Hoa Cultural Heritage Association (Thanh Hoa province) to King Quang Trung Temple.
