Chavez's inauguration postponed?
According to AFP, Venezuelan Vice President Nicolas Maduro said on January 4 that President Hugo Chavez, who is undergoing cancer treatment in Cuba, can continue to serve as head of state even if he cannot be sworn in on January 10 as scheduled.
Holding a copy of the constitution in his hand during a television interview, Mr. Maduro asserted that the constitution allows the president to be sworn in before the Supreme Court at a later date.

Previously, Prensa Latina news agency quoted an official statement from the Venezuelan government on January 3 saying that President Hugo Chavez had a lung infection after cancer surgery in mid-December last year.
The statement stated that this was the cause of President Chavez's difficulty breathing and required him to strictly follow the treatment regimen.
This document also warns Venezuelans about the international media's psychological warfare regarding President Chavez's health in order to destabilize the domestic situation and at the same time collapse the Bolivarian Revolution he leads./.
