From early morning, delegations of the Party, State, National Assembly, Government, Vietnam Fatherland Front, along with a large number of cadres, party members, and people from all walks of life in the capital and many provinces and cities across the country came to the National Funeral House - No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong (Hanoi) to pay their respects to former General Secretary Do Muoi.

At the National Funeral House, the funeral of former General Secretary Do Muoi was held in a solemn and emotional atmosphere. The coffin of former General Secretary Do Muoi was covered with the national flag. Above the portrait of former General Secretary Do Muoi is the national flag bordered with a mourning band and the words "Deeply mourning comrade Do Muoi, former General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, former Chairman of the Council of Ministers (now Prime Minister) of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; former Advisor to the Central Executive Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam".

The Funeral Committee for former General Secretary Do Muoi is headed by General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Trong.

The Funeral Organizing Committee is headed by Politburo member and Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh.

With the sad background music "Soul of the Martyr," at exactly 7 o'clock, the funeral service for former General Secretary Do Muoi was solemnly held. At the beginning of the ceremony, with infinite sorrow, the Central Party Executive Committee delegation led by General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong visited comrade Do Muoi and expressed condolences to his family.

The memorial service for comrade Do Muoi will be held at 9am on October 7 at the National Funeral Home No. 5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi. The burial ceremony will take place at 1pm on the same day at his hometown, Khu Ma Vang, Hamlet 1, Dong My Commune, Thanh Tri District, Hanoi. At the same time, the memorial service for comrade Do Muoi will also be held at the Thong Nhat Hall in Ho Chi Minh City.
