The reigning Premier League champions lost 2-4 at Everton in round 32 on the evening of April 9.

Goals: Davies (1'), Lukaku (23', 57'),Jagielka (41') -Slimani (4'),Albrighton (10')

After sacking coach Claudio Ranieri, Leicester City won six consecutive matches, overcoming Sevilla to reach the Champions League quarter-finals and escaping the relegation race in the Premier League. It was the transformation of the "Foxes" that raised suspicions that the players had previously played below their ability to "break the seat" of the Italian strategist.

But then Everton, who were in good form at home, stopped Leicester's winning streak.First defeat under coach Craig Shakespearedoes not affect much the position of the team owned by the Thai owner in the Premier League. They currently have 36 points, eight points more than the red light group while the tournament has only five rounds left. However, leaving Goodison Park empty-handed has more or less affected the psychology of the "Foxes" before the trip to Spain to play the first leg of the Champions League quarter-finals withAtletico Madrid(April 12).

Just 30 seconds after the referee blew the whistle to start the match, Leicester City's net shook. The finisher was Tom Davies but the first credit went to Kevin Mirralas, who sprinted through three of the visitors' defenders before putting the ball into the feet of his teammate.

However, Leicester bounced back just as quickly. Less than 10 minutes later, the reigning Premier League champions took the lead thanks to a quick counter-attack, Islam Slimani's shot going through the goalkeeper's legs and Marc Albrighton's beautiful free-kick into the top corner.

At Goodison Park, fans witnessed a goal-filled half, with a dramatic score chase. Immediately after conceding a 2-1 lead, Everton scored two goals to regain the lead. Leicester's defense showed that they were poor in the air, with both goals coming from aerial duels by Lukaku and Jagielka.

Lukaku continued to be Everton's hero with a double.

Lukaku was the one who put an end to Leicester City's hopes of maintaining their unbeaten streak with a close-range shot, sealing the 4-2 scoreline after a teammate's corner kick. The goal helped the Belgian striker continue to lead the Premier League's scoring list with 23 goals.

In the four major European leagues of Spain, Italy, Germany and England, Lukaku is only four goals behind Messi. With such a high scoring efficiency, it is not surprising that he is welcomed by a series of big teams such as Chelsea, Arsenal, and Man Utd. The possibility of Everton losing their trump card in attack is very high when the Belgian striker has openly expressed his desire to play in the Champions League.
