Leicester under pressure to increase salaries for key players
Five key players of the reigning Premier League champions have yet to receive a pay rise and that is affecting preparations for the new season.
Stars who are concerned about their salary at Leicester, according to the Mirror (UK), include:Kasper Schmeichel, Danny Simpson, Danny Drinkwater, Jeffrey Schlupp and Riyad Mahrez.
All five of these names were main players in the Premier League winning team last season, including Mahrez, a star valued at over $50 million and currently the target of many big clubs across Europe.

Schlupp, Schmeichel, Mahrez, Simpson and Drinkwater are restless at Leicester, because they have not received a pay rise while many other teams are courting them. |
Normally, after a successful season, the above pillars should be renewed with better treatment. But that has not happened and Leicester faces the risk of losing personnel, after Chelsea gutted Kante.
Coach Ranieri is leading the team on a training tour to the US, but is very impatient about this issue. And this is the reason why Director of Football, Jon Rudkin, had to meet with the Thai owners of the club yesterday, July 25.Leicester to resolve the problem that is weighing down the team atmosphere in preparation for the new season.
Rudkin is said to have urged the Thai bosses to soon approve new salaries, increasing them commensurate with the contributions of the five pillars.
Of Leicester's stars who won the title last season, only two have been given preferential treatment, including striker Jamie Vardy and captain Wes Morgan.
Vardy's wages have risen to £130,000 a week, after the striker decided to reject Arsenal to stay and sign a new contract. Morgan signed a new contract last week, increasing his wages to £92,000 a week.
N'Golo Kante was offered a new contract worth the same amount as Vardy, but turned it down to join Chelsea. Mahrez, who is on £46,000 a week, was also offered a similar increase to sign a new contract, and has yet to accept it.

Kante's departure is a wake-up call for Leicester as a series of other key players are being courted by big teams. |
Schmeichel, who started all 38 Premier League games last season, is on £30,000 a week, while Drinkwater is on £39,000 a week. Both have just two years left on their contracts and are said to be keen to see their wages rise to at least £100,000 a week.
Right-back Simpson, 29, has just one year left on his contract and earns £39,000 a week. He is being pursued by Sunderland. Meanwhile, left-back Schlupp, who earns £52,000 a week, has been approached by West Brom for £12 million./.
